This is our second new show of the season. As you can see, we will NOT be releasing it day after. Earliest we will release is like early morning Tuesday EST. Reason being that AT-X absolutely sucks, which causes us to delay for 3 days for a new station. And if we’re waiting 3 days, then we ought to wait 4 for a better one.
This week was delayed due to raw issues. It should get better. This release also uses ordered chapters, so like K-On!, please place all new episodes in the same folder as the OP and ED files.
Now, the biggie. There will be no XviD for this release. There will be a SD version (I don’t know what type, but there will be one). All PCs should be able to play SD regardless of format. If you need it for DVD players or whatnot, I’m going to be writing up a handy conversion guide so you can do it on your own.
HD h.264: Ghosty Girl!
SD h.264: Fixed
1st ive been waiting for this thanks!!!!!!!!!!
Wow thanks this season looks to be pretty good, also seems like a lot is getting subbed great start overall for the anime community ๐
Eh……
Thx for quality – great but OP and ED in other files n/c
Yay new series! Thanks Chihiro!!! ๐
Whoo thank you guys, now I can actually watch this in good quality
damn no xcid
i donr understand very well with the chapters…
Haha nice, an SD conversion guide. Afterwards you should start training people to be backup encoders and then one day you’ll by chance hit someone with some godly computer that can do everything in 5min and we’ll all rejoice.
Encoding always makes me feel like the $3000 I spent on my laptop that one time was a complete and total waste though ^_^ goodbye life savings
best. school uniform. ever.
Wow another new serie, Chihiro = Win. Thanks for the release.
Redheaded ghosty schoolgirl…..my prayers have been answered.
To convert is not all that hard (I do it all the time). I myself use the MediaCoder, but there are several software that are able to convert from MKV to AVI ou even to MPEG. Most of them (probably 90%) don’t really get any isse after the conversion.
Anyways, thanks guys for the new release! ๐
Please do an mp4 if you can, I have had a good experience with mp4 by Aasasubs on their Hajime no Ippo. It works perfectly with PS3, I would just recommend to put the subs a little bit up from the bottom of the screen because it seems to get cut off if they are put too low.
can’t wait for ToLoveRu OVA ๐
Spoiler: Aasasubs is the worst group. This isn’t just trolling. They’re actually the WORST group. They suck, horribly.
i usually dont post anything but after seeing this anime i guess i have to :P. imo this is one of the best anime ive seen subbed by chihiro XD..! keep it up. eventho was just ep 1 of 12/13?? ๐ anyway thank you thank you TY!!
great choice guys
seen it alrdy by another group but tbh u guys are way better
plus the vid quality is way better tbh
another side note, good thing ur dropping the xvids for this show, it would lose quality but we all know that ;P
ty for the release and keep up the great work ^^
also, are u guys picking another project beside K-ON and Asura? or u just gonna sub these 2 shows?
hey i dont know aniting about tis anime is this the first season or wath?
ummm how do u get the opening and ending to play i dont understand how putting them in the saem folder makes all the parts play???
Oooohh…….
I thought this wasn’t gonna go…
I think I’ve watched the raw episode1 four times last week and raw ep2 yesterday twice.
I really like this show.
Thanks chihiro staff. ^^
(sorry off topic: How bout installing Japanese language pack in here? I tried once and they all showed up as question marks)
Work’s quality was best as I expected. But I wonder why made it 3 files and not just merged them all to be one file ?

i would agree with this statement for their last release of Ippo 14, the english was terrible compared to the previous few i had seen, but i like the fact that the mp4 is high quality and plays on PS3 without having to convert.
Gotta love the release, dunno about anime itself. But I’m all out for HD releases.
I agree with luigimario :
[…]i like the fact that the mp4 is high quality and plays on PS3 without having to convert.[…]
@Rifer who the fuck cares =\ thats why you download PS3 MEDIA SERVER they jesus =_=
Just started this tor now and……. it’s HUGE XDD
(compared to the usual)
** Warning Another Moron with an ordered chapter question **
MPlayer doesn’t do ordered chapters and VLC blows, anyone know of a Vid player for Linux that supports ordered chapters?
PS> I did look in the K-On 1 thread first, but it was just filled with trolling for other sub groups, if the info was there it got lost in the noise.
Thx for 720p release
@Malcho Cause transcodding demand to much to my PC.
thanks, n now waitin for ToLOVERu OVA…
Man, I leave the team for one week and you’re already pumping out awesome releases? This is the best looking release I’ve seen since I joined Chihiro. 720p, h264, ordered chapters, THE WORKS>
Umm next time remember to but write the filetype to the torrent. It helps a bit since there are Mp4 “Hd” relases and mkv relases. But if this uses ordered chapters its probably mkv right?
Waiting for the SD version if there wont be Mp4 “HD” available.
wat is this ordered chapters????? I dont understand, will it work on DVD?
It’s a really good series. Please keep on releasing it!
“wat is this ordered chapters????? I dont understand, will it work on DVD?”
Some sort of program that makes the video able to use pre-downloaded opening and ending video files and use the same opening and ending in every episode. This way fansub groups need to only share one opening and one ending and cut them out of the actual episode.
This way you only dowload opening and ending once and insert them in to the episodes.
Or this is how I have understood it. And its likely that your dvd player wont support this feature as its probably not supported in any standalone player. Even some computer players have problems with them. But this is only for the mkv relase, so it doesnt consern the xvid relase.
back to the question Oblibion asked, is this the first season?
Anyways, thanks for the release.
Thanks for this series Chihiro. It looks to have potential, and I was surprise by the lack of groups subbing it. Thanks for taking the time to sub it. Also, I love the fact that you have adopted ordered chapters. Keep up the good work.
@ Oolong
I have no idea is this will work as I do not have a Linux operating system. I simply went out and took a look at some Linux media players that are licensed under the GPL. If it doesn’t work, try not to be too angry. I found that Xine media player supports matroska containers (mkv), so you might try that one. Here’s a link to a download page –> http://linux.wareseeker.com/free-xine/
@Oolong
I usually use VLC for SD content and MPlayer (GNOME MPlayer GUI) for HD – neither of them seem to support the external OP and ED (VLC plays the first chapter over and over again; MPlayer just skips to the next part where the OP and ED should be). I’ll have a look around to see if I can find any that will do it, and I’ll post again if I do. Otherwise, hopefully someone else might come up with a reasonable solution.
Are you guys going to sub the new season of “To Love Ru” ? I’m just wondering. The Raw for the 1st ep is out. So I’m just wondering. please someone answer.
This show was awesome, like the use of chapters. Keep on keepin on!
lol i have 3 media players and i can’t watch this episode on 1 of them.
i can’t watch video’s with an h.264 codex on windows mediaplayer
on VLC player the first chapter repeats over and over again because the “ordered chapters” i think
and with intervideo mediaone i have the same problem as with the VLC player
so witch media players can play this episode?? XD lol i rlly wanna see this anime
Its probably just me, but the music plays faster than the video on the OP, the episode and ED are just fine…
@ subj3ctX
Uh… http://www.cccp-project.net/
It seems my computer can somehow run this file, the performance differs greatly depending on the ammount of action on the screen, but it seems most of the episode is watchable.
I am also using ubuntu linux and XINE, however atleast on my machine XINE doesnt seem to care about the opening or the ending at all and just plays the episode. This is fine for me as I tend to skip them anyways (and if I want to watch them I can just watch the opening and ending)
So Xine works for me atleast. Also tested Mplayer which also skipped opening and ending completely. So the episode is watchable just that the ordered chapters do not work yet.
But if this is a new feature xine and mplayer devs are probably already looking to support this feature. Just keep updating your computer and probably soon the players will support these ordered chapters. Now focus on the episode instead ๐
quality is pretty good tough, encoding and compressing has been pretty succesfull. Slight blurriness(using 32″ tv so ppl using monitors probably wont notice) and jpg boxes there and there but overall very good quality/size ratio.
This is nice! And thanks for subbing the to love ova!
thx for the link . i can finally watch it ๐
I am dissapointed that the SD version is still in mkv format, I would have preferred an mp4, but oh well.
I don’t want to complain but as like jo jo said the OP sound is faster than the pictures maybe it needed to check because later a picture start to run and it make the sound and the picture into synch so this is msut be an error in the file.
Thanks for the release Chihiro, good to see you guys improving your quality. And for the couple of guys who asked if this was the first season: Yes, it is.
“I am dissapointed that the SD version is still in mkv format, I would have preferred an mp4, but oh well.”
There are other groups and encoders that have done mp4 of this in hd, but discussing those here would be against the rules of most fansub groups comments section. Check Tokyo Toshokan and use Mp4 in search and choose anime as gategory if you want Ps3/X360 playable encodes. There are even some PSP mp4 encodes of chihros fansubs like K-ON! but if you want to watch those with your computer or ps3 the video quality might be very poor.
I haven’t watched a Chihiro-subbed anime in a looong time (even though I’ve really been wanting to watch one), and after this long and extended absence I have to say that the encoder did an excellent job, good raw, and amazingly enough (!) the karaoke (unlike so many other fansubbers) actually translated the hiragana “ha” to “wa” where used as the topic particle! Quality of the sub was a lot more decent than I remember; TL I’m not too picky on because different people have their own way of carrying over the meaning of various phrases, but overall it was pretty good! Great job Chihiro keep up the good work!
after a long waiting …
yay … FINALLY ~
thanks for the high quality … good job ^_^
