K-On! – 11

Ritsu catches swine flu and Mio goes to her house for lesbian sex to care for her. Soichiro’s prayers are not answered! (Soichiro: Mio sucks. It’s no good unless it’s a 3-way with Mugi, Yui, and Ui.) (I hate you guys, you’re so dirty and you don’t pay the characters the respect they deserve. T_T -windstar)

  • Phoenix911

w00t loving it, love the pictures comment also.

Only thing i wondering is all these releases witch are keeping up with the animes i downloading and watching but the KZC second batch and the DVD rips of asu no yoichi seem to have died. o.O

  • i honestly do not understand why people don’t want to download h.264. ERASE that fucking k-lite codec pack or whatever and install cccp. Or just install FFDshow and matroska splitter. that’s all you need. Damn…

People who say that want it so they can watch it on their streaming dvd player or whatever: GET A NEW ONE WHICH SUPPORTS H264 WHICH IS NOT A NON BRAND PLAYER -or- GET A FREAKIN’ VIDEO CONVERTER

    damn.

    Good stuff chihiro πŸ™‚

  • Keviskie

Oh come on! I need XviD so I can covert it to mp4 for my PSP. I’ll wait till Sunday, But Pleeaasse don’t drop it.

  • Keviskie

  • Anyone who needs xvid: Get a converter… takes way less time to actually learn HOW to encode and to actually encode it. I use MeGUI. It has one click encoding capabilities. It’s super sweet. It converts in any format you need.

PSPVC is your friend for h.264 conversion. I tell you, the conversion can be as small as 50mb for a normal 300mb episode with good enough quality for it’s size and readable subs. I’ve done the same for Xvid ones and boy do they look horrible unless hey are at least 100mb upwards. Using PSP Video 9 with XVid requires at least 250mb+ for a decent one.

    GET H.264 NAO!

My codec pack is VistaCodecs Pack 4.64 for XP/Vista and Win7Codecs for Windows 7.

  • John Jambo Jabalai

Thanks Chihiro for providing us with such well made subs and file quality.
Would also be great if you guys could release k-on with op/ed before the cut version.
    Cheers

  • Dreed

Ortix, care to share how to use it? Maybe a tutorial on your site?

  • rubbrchikin

The only reason I download the avi’s is because you cut out the OP and ED sequences in your mkv releases. That, in my opinion, is inexcusable.

  • Aaron

rubbrchikin, if you have the OP and ED from the first EP in the same dir as the .mkv it will load it -_-

  • Guys,

Not trying to promote anything but, there is a software called MediaCoder that converts almost any video to your liking. It’s also free.

    http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/

Check it out. Quite easy to use. Convert your own AVI. It’s very simple.

  • Sure i can make a tutorial. It’ll be up either in half an hour or tomorrow (it’s pretty late :P)

  • Kalessin

    @Aaron

True enough, but that only works in Windows because the only mkv demuxer which currently supports ordered chapters is Windows-only. As a Linux user, I cannot use ordered chapters, and so I hate them. If they worked in Linux, I might like them (I’m too biased at the moment to say for sure), but I don’t really like the idea to begin with. However, I understand why some people like ordered chapters (less disk space required, the encoder doesn’t have to worry about retiming the karaoke, etc), so I don’t think that it’s worth kicking and screaming over.

Personally, I download the h264 and just put up with the irritation of the ordered chapters. Still, if I had a choice, I’d choose to not have ordered chapters. And I really don’t understand why anyone would really want xvid. Obviously, some folks do, but h264 is just all around superior. h264 is an entirely different generation of codec from xvid and really should be replacing it.

In any case, thanks for the release.

  • Adam

The problem I have with h.264 encode is the fact that VLC on *MAC* can’t seem to handle the ordered chaptering. =\
    My loss, I guess.

/patiently waits for Sunday to roll around

  • Jash

I can run the h.264 just fine. I just choose to download the AVI so I can watch it on my 42″ LCD using my Xbox 360 and not on my 19″ computer LCD.

  • rubbrchikin

    @Aaron:

Sorry, that doesn’t work. Unlike Kalessin I run Windows, though my reason for not being able to play ordered chapters is because the Haali splitter (which as he pointed out is the ONLY MKV splitter out there that supports that) is not available for x64, or really for /any/ /other/ /OS/ than Windows 32-bit.

  • Another good episode, and we’re also getting so close to the ending now, eh?

  • Adrie

    I’ll simply wait. πŸ™‚

I watch my animes one episode per night. If I don’t get to watch it, I just wait the next day.

Helps make the feeling and curiosity of what’s going to happen next last. πŸ˜›

  • Here we go guys, the uber almighty tutorial i just wrote up in an hour or so…
    http://www.ortixdesign.com/video/megui-the-converting-powerhouse.html

This will encode your video’s in a superior quality to AVI and is simply awesome. Or you can download any other conventional converter.

  • Anon

Doesn’t play here, Halli + ffdshow stops showing subtitles after the opening, VLC doesn’t even get past the prolouge (it just restarts); I haven’t had a chance to test totem or mplayer yet.

    Can you NOT use VLC?

  • Modhesh

I used CCCP, but the video don’t match with the audio(the audio seems to be running with the time just fine, but the video is like slowed), used VLC, they’re running the same but hangs periodically(like trying to match up the video and audio), same with Kmplayer.. so, I’ll wait for XviD. πŸ˜€

  • ukp

you see the problems of video geting slower than audio is not a problem of the encode.
actually its a problem cause by less system memory.
so i recomend to close any other background programs while runnng it ( like fire fox , and the irus guard, these two eat so much memory ).

I had the same problem and after I do this I can play the files with no problems at all, πŸ™‚

  • Zig

who the fuck would watch Mio x ritsu lesbian sex? we need mugi x azunyan

  • hanzo

wow love the small file size guys definitly gonna stick to h.264 versions from now on(running low on space on my anime hdd)

  • ProtoXslash

    Great Release like always =)
u coming to L.A for Anime Expo Kristen?
    U should go!

  • kenji

    @rubbrchikin

Haali splitter doesn’t have to be native x64 for ordered chapters to work. I installed it using the same cccp installer I used for my x86 machine and both computers play the ordered chapters fine. If you can’t play ordered chapters with cccp go into options and check whether Matroska is ticked under source filters. If it is disable it and try playing the ordered chapters again.

  • mX

Xvid for DVD player and see it on my TV…
    Ill wait till sundag!

  • Anon

Seems mplayer was the only thing I could get to play it, Totem had all sorts of stuttering and freezing.

And no, I can not use VLC because it skips back to the beginning of the file after the prolouge finishes -_- (I have a searing hatred for the program anyway, so no big loss there).

You didn’t get it. Do not use VLC. It’s really crap.

  • I am getting tracker error “Oops! This link appears to be broken.” πŸ™‚

  • imaliar

Why must people like me be the ones to suffer?! Those who have to wait and wait forever for the WS releases because the fact the sides are cut of in the regular release drives them batty?

  • bauaser-kun

“XviD is a stupid codec that is just as playable on all computers as h.264”
Yeah, but i just love to watch anime on DVD (using RW disc or pen-drive) and h.264 is not playable on most of DVD’s (at least in my country)
Sorry if I wrote something wrong, but i’m from Poland, and i’m not sure if know english good enough.

  • Mizuno

    i use both mkv/h264 and xvid formats….

one thing that people tend to forget, mkv’s require more cpu power than xvid, not everyone has money for higher or mid end pc’s. some still use the pre-dual core celerons, which even with 1GB++ RAM and a 512mb DDR2 video card still can’t or have trouble playing h264 because of it’s lower cache… 128 kB to be precise, way below the processors of today, even the newer celerons can match the older pentiums systems…

anycase, if you can’t wait for the xvid, you can still DL the h264 and convert it, lots of one click converters out there, but please to those who prefer the h264, don’t attack those who still rely on the xvids. ^_^

  • Dreed

    Thanks Ortix!

    Much appreciated πŸ™‚

  • Lake

“XviD is a stupid codec that is just as playable on all computers as h.264 of the same resolution, takes more filesize for lower quality, and doesn’t support ordered chapters. Download the h.264 or wait until Sunday.”

First, The main problem people find with .MKV is some groups can not time it properly to save their asses. The sync of voice to lip movement and .ass is so far off that the thing is totaly unwatchable. I’m not complaining about Chihiro, their releases have been pretty good. But other groups have made me wonder what they were doing. So, I will wait for a hard coded Xvid.

Second, When played on a normal computer monitor or TV for that matter, who can REALLY tell the difference? Honestly, I know that I can’t. To test it I had my brother do a comparison run of both standards using K-on as the basis. After watching six episodes, (3 Xvid/3 H.264) He asked me why we were doing this. He couldn’t see any difference. This was done on a Computer with a 24″ wide screen and on a 36″ HD TV. I agreed with him. There was no difference.

    “Codec snobbery is verboten!”

  • Lance

I use XviD because it’s easier to convert and most DVD player can play it.

  • sigh… people still don’t get it. I give up. I’ll just go out with one bang:

USE CCCP, USE MEDIA PLAYER CLASSIC (HOME CINEMA), USE MEGUI TO CONVERT, FUCK XVID.

    There you have it.

  • InsaneG33k

Damn is Anirena’s website gunna be back up soon i was just downloading them from episode 2 and it cut out! Damn!
