ok when you read the title it says the endless eight right? So by that you can assume eight episodes. I think that is what kristen is complaining about right?

I kind of like the Endless Eight episodes, I’m not sure why everyone has such a problem with them. I mean, it is kind of the same thing again and again, but I liked the first one, ergo I like all of them.
It IS getting a little stale… but at least it’s easy to sub at this point, right? >_>
It also could be that the “eight” refers to eight weeks (4 episodes, each covers 2 weeks)
Kadokawa is responsible for telling KyoAni how many/what episodes to do.. so blame them, if anyone >_<
I even read that there was a producer fired over this, but not before Endless Eight was planned to be 6 episodes long, so they are trying to decide if they should skip the 5th iteration and skip to the end. Source was 2ch apparently.

Like Kristen said when she posted the blurb for Epi. 4, the story only lasts about 20 pages in the novel. They figure out that time is repeating and resolve the issue in one pass. I could’ve understood two, or maybe even three episodes of Endless Eight. This is the second wasted episode, though. No resolution, and we get to wait another week to see if they’ve resolved it.
They’d better not waste 8 out of the 14 episodes on this. Srsly. >:(
Maybe how the title of the episode is arranged is a clue…
If you look at the titles of each episode for the 28 episode re-airing, “Endless Eight” only has two parts.

At least give them credit for not recycling any animation, but I do agree with all of you, this should have ended on the third episode.

Though I find it difficult to accept people dropping this just because of five of the same episode, but are content to sit through 100+ mindless episodes of that garbage known as Bleach, Detective Conan, Dragonball, Naruto and One Piece …

Endless Eight. Personally, I REALLY hope they don’t make 8 episodes of the same thing. It would just be torture and they would lose so many viewers.
But in my theory, I think endless eight probably means the infinity(which basically means endless) symbol, which looks like a sideways eight.

Grrr… Didn’t it only loop 15,498 times in the original light novel? I can’t understand why Endless Eight wasn’t ended in the third episode on the 15,498th loop, and is now going beyond that…
@Aaron: Those episodes in shounen animes are usually with the same plot, resolution.
And what makes Haruhi better, is that they at least change the characters appearance slightly…
And my perasonal idea about this madness: if they draw out endless eight to 8 episodes long, then they better make 28 chapters of the novel into anime instead of making 28 episodes…

I think Endless Eight means Endless August. I hope it gets resolved because this is just too much of “almost” the same thing.

I just read Endless Eight (I have all the novels saved on my computer) and it lasted roughly 45 or so pages in the .pdf, which translates to 20-23 pages in the actual novel.
Fucking annoying.

Endless Eight was quite short in the light novel, i don’t get why it takes so long for it to be resolved in anime form ^^;;
Just watched the new episode.
Honestly, at least it’s not an exact copy like the last two were. Now it seems Kyon is starting to understand what’s going on at times; I think that the next episode will be the end of Endless Eight.
Happiness is 500 years of Haruhi. With Kyoani in the driver’s seat, we’ll never get bored of it.
