OK, we’re done. 1080p is a slower seed (10/2 connection instead of 100/100) unfortunately, since it’ll be faster to seed it out than to ul/mux it.
Oh, and this has 5.1 FLAC. I think this is not only our first completed movie, but also our first show with 5.1 audio. So, yay. 🙂 480p has 2.0 AAC @ 320 kbps, though, as you’re only DLing that for filesize or compatibility.

i’ve wait this since year!
So, I’m having serious trouble getting the sound to work for this file. I’ve downloaded the FLAC codec to get the audio to work, but it’s just not coming through for whatever reason. I’ve tried the file in Winamp (it refuses to load), Divx and WMP have no sound (both say they’re missing the DirectShow recoder), and VLC simply crashes (though I think the sound does work; I wouldn’t know since it crashes in less than 3 seconds). Is there some specific codec you used for the file, or is there another player I can try this on? I’ve been toying around with this for the past hour and a half, using several programs to figure out exactly what I need, including MediaInfo, but I’m still coming up short.

Don’t use Winamp or VLC to play videos, use MPC-HC/CCCP/K-Lite(Wah wah wah K-Lite).

You do know that DTS is like lossy and still can be larger than the lossless FLAC right? Well aside from that, I don’t think you’re gonna get a DTS release, so you could just find a RAW and mux in some scripts.

Well it’s a little bit different. The original Blu-Ray uses DTS-HD according to 1*. As you can read at wikipedia 2*, DTS-HD is a lossless audiocodec (like FLAC). So the question should be in the first place: Why convert a lossless compressed stream to another lossless compression codec? It’s not like ffdshow, etc. couldn’t decode it.
On the other hand the advantage for people like me, who watch their 1080p at a home cinema system, is that DTS-HD is backwards compatible to DTS. This means it’s usable (the lossy “core” of the bitstream) via SPDIF and HDMI connections which don’t support the latest bitstream codecs and 5.1/7.1 PCM yet.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to bitch. I’m just curious for the reason why everyone seems to change the codec for apparently no reason – except for the loss of SPDIF support.

Thank you for 1080p. I am hoping the audio will downmix to 2 channels though. If that’s not the case, I have to find 3 more speakers…I suppose I can leave out the sub.

If you are using ffdshow (you should) go to “ffdshow audio decoder configuration”, check “Mixer” in the left, click “Mixer” in the left and choose “output speaker configuration”: “2/0/0”.
Or just install the latest CCCP:

720p for me – And you guys are awesoem for subbing this – ive been waiting since the movie came out hoping someone would. hope I can figure out which program to DL for watching vids w/FLAC .
Does anyone have suggestions? My current comp has been so far behind the time I haven’t been able to watch subs unless they make a low quality release for over a year, but I got the parts now so as soon as I build it, I can watch this:)
Download CCCP and use MPC which comes packaged with it.
Ah haha… Note to self, thay when I get my 2TB storage HDD to reformat it to NTFS instead of FAT32. Just realized I didn’t do that with my 1TB one, and it doesn’t like having 9GB files. To ‘My Documents’ this movie goes! XD

No Subs for the 480p? I don’t know what I am doing wrong but I do have the option for the subs on mkv but the only thing that shows having the sub is the Ending SOng. Pls help because I might be tempted to just dl the higher version.
Those of you having issues with the subs: please try getting the latest CCCP. They’re there and working fine for most people, and we can’t really tech support over comments, especially with no details. If you want to join the IRC channel, you’ll get better results.

what ever i think after tales of abyss the one is really good and must be great if they can release another movie not just leave fans to continue it on the game version (for me i think animation is far more lively and exciting than on the game).
