Poll time. When you hear KugiRie, who do you hear? Shana? Louise? Nagi? Taiga? Alphonse? Nina Trinity? Someone else? I’m curious. I always hear Shana.

Usually Louise. Probably because Zero was the first I watched. It’s worth a note, though, that Kugimiya is NOT one of those “single voice” seiyuu, there have been times when I didn’t immediately recognize her voice.
Nagi usually, sometimes Taiga. Characters like Rose in Dragon Crisis are more Nagi, the catholic sister in Index was very Taiga. Young characters make me think Nagi, older but short and violent trigger Taiga. Nagi is the default just because I’ve watched more Hayate than anything else, though I’m working my way through Gintama now. I’ve also been hearing the narrator from Hayate’s voice in anime now, though I haven’t bothered to look up who it is yet.
That being said, Aria seems like a much more Shana character so far, what with the transitions between extreme competence and extreme embarrassment.
I hear Mio. It’s probably the one you hear first, or the series you like the most.
Not Alphonse, that’s for sure. I had to a double take when I first saw that name connected to Kugimiya. Otherwise, this seems more like a favorite character list since everyone here seems pretty familiar with her work. So I’ll throw one down for Sanada Yukimura, since she won me over most recently.
