Is there any position I could fill with no experience in anything whatsoever? Or could I possibly learn to do something? I’d just like to know if it’s possible, and if I can learn, and can work it in with my school work, I’d be glad to contribute. I honestly just have no clue what I could possibly do.

With no experience, you could start with QC or editing but you must be good at English (for QC, you also need a sharp eye for detail). As for learning, the easiest to practice and learn would be timing. TSing & karaoke are more complicated to master.

I cn god Engelash. I bee Edetr?

Lol, I tried to email you several times ^^

lol, just realised I’m still an admin on this site ^^. But yeah, I was kind of unable to answer emails for a while and when I was able to again it had been so long I didn’t think it was worth it.

    It’s always worth it.

    Hello.

I think i may provide help with encode, but… (i don’t know how to correctly put in english), that depends of your constraints.
Short presentation : I’m making my own Blu-Ray since 2-3 years (using a personnal custom build of x264 i’m always keeping up to date), and for that i’ve build a PC (i7@980) dedicated to video processing. So, when i’m working on my personnal products, PC is running and unaviable for several continuous days, but also when not doing anything, PC is aviable for several days (even weeks).
If interested, contact me by mail, to discuss more, to see if i can provide help.

Hello. Yes, we are. I emailed you to give you some informations and also on how to join our channel.

I’ve been learning Japanese for the past two years, but I think I’m still a beginner. It’s been a while since I’ve used it as well but if you’re looking for translators, I think I might be able to help. I also have lots of free time on my hand this year.

Hi. That’s great. When you get the chance, try visiting here.
There, you can talk and ask questions to our staff members, they’ll be happy to guide/answer your questions.

I do not have any experience to speak of, kind of hard when in most places you need experience to get experience. I have always been fascinated by Anime and have dreamed of getting involved with a subbing group such as yourselves. I am always ready to learn new things but I do not know much Japanese and English being my primary language but I can see when there has been a translation error or when the grammar of the line does not seem to fit. If there is anything that I would be able to do I would do it. Is there some kind of test I can take?

    Hello. Yes, please click here.
It’ll open a window to our irc channel, someone from staff can talk to you and give you a test.

  • p4izanagi

i would like to apply for QC . i do not have any experience in QC so far . so is it okay?

You don’t need QC experience for that, just having a good knowledge in English.

  • p4izanagi

i love to apply for QC then, any requirements? (e.g. Free time and any other stuffs)

Not being AFK 24/7 is another requirement. If you wanna take a test join here.

  • I know some Japanese since I’m studying it.
We got staff members who know it well too.
I would like to be an editor though. Since I major in English and I’m an author.

If you have some free time then join here. We’ll be more than happy to give you an editor test and answer any of your questions. ^^

If you still need one, I may be able to help out as an encoder.
I used to encode raws some time ago, though I’m a bit rusty now.
Also, I was never in a sub group, so I’m not super familiar with the fansubbing process as a whole.
But if none of that is too much of a problem I’d love to help out ^.^

We still are, if you are interested you can join here and take a test.

  • Rizin

    Hi,

If possible, I would love to try out the translator position.
I am a Chinese who have been in America for 6 years. I have been learning Japanese for the past two semesters in college, and will be taking intense Japanese classes during summer as well. I thought it would be a good training for me to join a sub group since I really love watching anime and reading manga.
I still consider myself a beginner and can contribute decent 10 hrs.

    Thanks

Hi, we’d love to have more translators. To get started, join here (link updated) to ask any questions you might have and to receive a test.

  • Hello, can I do QC? I’m good at english. I only have experience on encoding, burning sub.

Feel free to join our recruit channel and take a QC test.

  • Barknmoo

    Hey there,
I was interested in being a QC or Editor (not sure what the difference is). I’m a native English speaker, and I am interested, however my schedule is really odd, so I’m only available certain days.

Well an editor turns the script into proper english, a qcer checks the scripts for errors. Anyway, if you are interested you can join here, so we can discuss about it, also everyone has irl schedules that he has to prioritize.

  • Hobichan

Hello. Just dropping by to see if I could help with anything. I’m quite interested in QC’ing and editing… okay, and maybe timing. I have no experience whatsoever. For QC’ing, well actually, when I see some errors in the stuff I download, I correct them myself and that’s it. I’m OC that way. I wonder if that actually counts as experience…? For timing, I tried playing around with aegisub and it was actually fun, not that hard I guess. Oh, and I’m not a native English speaker. However, I’m quite confident with the degree of knowledge that I have.

Hello. Well if you got some free and wanna take a test or talk about the different positions, join here and talk to begna112 or Hybrid21/Hybrid|dead/unceshashm.

  • Gret

hi, well just notice you guys needed some help… i am kinda blank page no exp with anything so if you think i can help out in anyway let me know as long as it is not CPU intensive i am fine but i am normally only available at night >.> My english is fine since all my school are english based. Just be prepare for the occasional “color’ and “colour” LOL

Sure, feel free to join here, so we can have a chat and discuss about it.

  • Cameron

Hello. My name is Cameron, and I am interested in filling the position of editor. I have no experience with subbing, or sub groups, however my English is easily understandable, and I do have a limited knowledge of Japanese. I am a native English speaker and scored a 34 on the English portion of the ACT, and 36 on the Reading section. Other than those, I have no easily stated qualifications.I can work at least 10 hours per week at this position (that is a minimum, and I can easily do more if necessary). I hope to be of service. Thank you for any reply.
    -Cameron

Hello Cameron, we would gladly give you a test, join here, so we can have a chat and discuss about it. (Stay connected, in case we are afk. ^^)

Hello, I am also interested in joining your team. But, I also don’t have any experience with subbing. I wish to try your editor or quality checker recruitment test. I had been clicking the link to your IRC channel, however I seriously have no idea how it works. I wanted to register with different nick, but upon clicking, I am already assigned to a nick. I even tried registering without knowing that nick.T_T I couldn’t enter the code, though.^_^ Will appreciate any help. Looking forward to be working with you, guys. Thanks!

    • Lenmaer
