It seems this adaptation has axed the MC, harem romcom, and plot (and budget) for some tepid SoL. I don’t think that’s a good way of generating interest in the game. I doubt most people even make the connection that it’s advertising an eroge.
I think they are trying to make the girls more appealing. Less likely you would play VN just because the MC is cool and etc. Anyways, this doesn’t change the fact I feel like there will be a lot of comedy in the VN itself. But it is still true that many might not make the connection.
