I did filtering a little bit differently this week to try and remove some of the rainbowing/dotcrawl on the OP, and it worked there, but it seemed to have a bit of an effect on the episode itself. So, I’ll probably try encoding the OP and the rest of the episode under different filter chains for 03. That’s what I did with 08 FS as well.

Happy early Thanksgiving! However, even though you are thankful, please be mindful of the millions of turkeys that are killed every year to celebrate this holiday. If an average thanksgiving dinner consists of 50 people, that means that 6 million turkeys are killed every year in the United States. It’s not fair to them.

If you’ve got 50 people at your thanksgiving dinner, one turkey will suffice if about 40 of those people are vegetarians.

Considering that the average dinner doesn’t consist of 50 people, if you assume 10 instead that means that 30 million turkeys are killed every year.. which is even worse.
And if you think of it in a dark enough sense, we created a holiday around turkey genocide. If Thanksgiving were just about having a big meal, it’d probably be a little more humane.
And if you feel queasy about the whole concept in general, stay away from any Sarah Palin interviews with connections to Thanksgiving…
Do you know how many people eat chicken, beef, etc… every single day and there is a post on how poor turkeys are during thanksgiving?

It’s probably more like 50 to 60 million Turkeys consumed on Thanksgiving. But that’s still probably less than 20% of the Turkeys consumed over an entire year.
What would be genocide would be the banning of eating Turkey. At which point, the Domestic Turkey subspecies would be wiped out of existence because the farms that raise them wouldn’t keep doing so out of the goodness of their hearts.
But even if you are a meat eater like me, I think it’s a good idea to talk about this stuff from time to time because every really should know where their food comes from.

Turkeys don’t have souls…if they had souls they wouldn’t die from looking up at the sky during a storm and drowning in the rainwater that pours into their open mouths…dumb. Eating a turkey is no different than eating a carrot…they are here for us to eat and turkeys aren’t much smarter than a carrot.

I could eat a whole turkey myself! Well, admittedly it would take me a few days, and lots of Turkey sandwich leftovers. But Yum. Very much looking forward to Thanksgiving. Hehe, having a sort of pre-thanksgiving thanksgiving today actually. Cooking up Turkey number 1 today, Turkey number 2 is Thursday.
