for the insert song i dont really care, works both ways, but as for the ending please re-do it, the fact that it is english just makes it easier to sing along 🙂

regarding the ED song, i don’t really care, since the lyrics are the same as OP and in english.
For the insert I’d say go with having a translation and karaoke, but of course no fancy effects.
And for the ED, just a basic kara would be fine if it’s already english 😀 just do whatever’s easiest while still keeping up the quality!

The insert song would be nice to have translated but if karaoke is awkward for this type of song, then forget it.
It was mentioned in a previous post that there were more effects you have available when it comes to the style of the subtitles. As a result, I would love to see what effect you put with the new ED.

Personaly, I don’t much care for karaoke in the first place. I can’t sing in English why would I try to do it in Japaneese? If you realy want karaoke in a song it should be in a seperate file so the real kara-fans can watch it over and over while the rest of us don’t have to see exploding kanji taking over the scene.

IMO sepia effect (like an old photo) is supposed to accent the past tense plus to provide better contrast for Kaze’s violin. Though I’d prefer old movie effect (like they did in the very end of this ep.).
As for your questions..
1. Insert song: both lyrics & translations, don’t care about any effects.
2. OP=ED: do everything like it’s general OP/ED (since it IS so), probably with another effect if it’s meant to match background.
P.S. What about ep.9 line/char mismatch at ~4:20 (see comments in ep.9 thread)?
I think that you should just do whatever goes fastest. Just an English translation in normal subtitle form for the insert and just re-time the op song subtitles for the ending.

I agree with ascendancy about CoalGuys’ karaoke. That was pretty lame. Episode 10 is strange, but beautiful in all its… well, yeah. You’ll see. It really beats up at the heart.

@ObrokenO: I highly doubt it’s merely laziness or anything like that. Chihiro asked for our opinion on what we preferred, and the karas were appreciated throughout the series. I personally think preserving as much of the RAW is appreciated to indulge in the essence of episode 10 for ef. Especially the ending. As for the insert song, it’s not that long, and a translation is sufficient enough.
