Ooh im glad this topic went up i have a question for Chihiro or anyone else who reads this.
Where is all the anime this week? Chihiro is the only fansub team doing great, and releasing everything wonderfully. But so far i cant even find a RAW for toradora, skip beat (which is understandable), tower of druaga -sword of uruk-, shikabane hime, clannad after story, and other animes.
Maybe im an idiot who didnt check the air times but so far there hasnt been anything uploaded; RAW or sub. Overall the main question is: is it some sort of holiday in japan or something?
Thanks for reading, feel free to point out any stupidities in my question lol, im sure there are plenty.

Kind of a shame there are only two options to answer this poll – what about people who don’t watch the anime they download on their computers, but on other multimedia devices (TviX, consoles, you name it) plugged straight to their TV?
Obviously, these people watch “fullscreen” since there’s no other way to go, but it’s not the same kind of fullscreen as in “computer screen”.
I don’t know what it is that you’re trying to check, maybe those specific cases aren’t relevant to your study, but won’t you be missing out on some data if you don’t take this into account?

I voted windowed, but honestly it depends on what format i’m watching. I watch xvids on VLC and mkvs on BS, I prefer anime windowed, but BS doesn’t “window”. It’s somewhere 50/50 for me, as I prefer xvids but download mkvs if xvids arent out
depending on the quality…. if its XviD its mostly windowed, since full screen looks crap quite often.
but if its HQ format, Fullscreen is the way to go
full screen for everything really.
imo the quality is often still good enough… and it always beats that of streamed stuff (which I what I was initially used to tbh)
When I watch an anime, or anything for that matter, quality comes first. I don’t increase the videos size unless I can’t see it at all (something like 300×300) Otherwise I watch it in it’s normal resolution.
Fullscreen 100%. The only time I watch windowed is when I’m translating, and need quick access to the text editor.
PS: No, we don’t care about watching on something other then PC. This is a strictly PC related poll.

Full screen all the way using zoom player.
I would rather use the full panel then have a chance of burn in on some of the older tv ‘s..
I have my desktop set to 1920 x 1080p so I scale everything to my panel native resolution…
Always watch in fullscreen. No sense in just watching on part of my screen. =P
i usually watch in fullscreen, but there have been a few times where i’ve had to dl a really low quality version and window it because i couldn’t see anything but blurs.
no “with my pants around my ankles” option?

i normally would watch it in whatever size it appears on my player because its normally best viewd that way. i only shrink it more if its really low quality and it makes it look not as horrible or fullscreen depending on how the download is like so it really depends i think

I now in this season there isn`t much goning on. But I watch every day 5 to 6 times if there are new torrents. It`s difficult to find, because there are torrents how are showed for example on mininova and the same torrent isn`t to find on Tokyo Toshokan. Or the same goes with Tokyo Toshokan and nyaatorrent`s.
You mentoined druaga and there are a few guys how are doing this but I belive that they have only some sort of stream version.

Go on http://fansubwiki.com/ and you can find all new animes how are new this season and which group is doing it. If you want to find the homepages of teh different groups look on animesuki and on Tokyo Toshokan.

Always full screen (I only watch windowed when I have crappy file like rmvb to watch, to make me avoid of looking for best releases elsewhere right in the moment).
Mostly it matters how far away from the screen I can sit. If I can sit those three meters away then I’ll go with full screen, but if I have to sit right up against my computer then I’ll go full screen anyways but shrink it down some (maybe half-screen size).

Full screen here. I use a window if I’m watch a show in streaming video, though.

@Kuros: Err, yeah, so you don’t know how to Alt-Tab, and use 2 Screens instead.
For me, I’m more using Alt-Tabbing, and most times, I’m watching the Vids in Fullscreen.
Well, for some sites online-Videos, I might be watching in Window-Mode due to the Capability of that site, while I’m trying to get at least a Zoom-Function to work, like the Size-thing in Flash.
However, on some Pages, the Zoom-Functions might not work properly – then I just have to use my Wii-Internet-Channel, with it’s included Zoom-Function(altough it’s sometimes quite slow with loading due to the low RAM-size).

HD in fullscreen, SD usually windowed.
I watch mostly on a Pocket PC, it can’t handle h264 so thanks for giving us the option so I don’t have to convert it.
if there is enough clarity, i’ll watch it fullscreen (my monitor is huge.. 24″ wide screen), otherwise i just scale it up a little and watch it in the box.
Hmm, i cant stand windowed…i just watch my anime on my 37″ tv/monitor fullscreen
Since I only DL h264 releases, I go with Fullscreen on my 26″ WS monitor. XVid just looks too grainy at that resolution.

Full screen on my 47″ 1080P LCD TV. DVI connections are great things. Only time I watch windowed is when important people are IM’ing me.
I mainly watch anime through my 360 or PS3 full screen on my 50 inch 1080p Vizio. I haven’t watched any anime in boxed form or on the computer in over 7 months now.
It depends… At first, I watch windowed on the computer, and then later, full screen when I watch on the DVD player (my player run DVIX videos).
I can’t answer that as it depends.
If the anime is in wide screen format, I’d watch it full screen.
If it’s just yeah i don’t know what call it, “regular?” format….then I’d watch it window
Like i said on IRC…fullscreen all the way unless your watching hentai and you need to be able to quickly hide it when your boss walks in ^_^

In fact, I believe half of the users here are european (this is just a wild guess, i have no idea of true numbers).

It depends on the video. I watch SD 480p or lower windowed (usually at 1.5x res) and 576p or higher fullscreen (my monitor goes up to 720p).
Most of the time it’s fullscreen, not windowed. Watching widescreen in the apps full screen mode pays off for me, since my monitor is 1080p, and watching fullscreen in the apps full screen mode works since it does not scale. The only time I watch something windowed is if I am trying to do other work while paying attention to what is going on in an anime. It is very rare for me to be doing something while watching anime, but there have been times where something on a site needed special care.
This poll has made it clear that no one lives in Wyoming… or at least that no one watches anime there. In which case no one IMPORTANT lives in Wyoming…

Personally I watch a few episodes a day 1-2, maybe around 4 if I have enough time before work.
Then at night I set most to download. This way I can download alot more then I watch, and in case the internet goes down, I have many series I haven’t even watched yet to fall back on, since I download way more then watch.
Using kMplayer, has so far been the best way to watch, even without CCCP.
I prefer 1024×576 screen, and definitely DVD quality.
I dislike Blue-Ray, because it’s a pain to run, and way too up-scaled.
Format I prefer is .mkv this way subs can be toggled on and off.
A nice cup of tea or coffee, along with an episode, in the morning before work is nice.
