Just once in my life, I would love to see a nun wear that kind of a shirt.
By the way, is it just me, or is this anime surprisingly good? Like, the attention paid to artwork and detail is like a million (melon) times better than most shows we do.
720p: Oh, and this has a loli.
480p: ^^
I noticed that too. and thanks for the release.
just wondering why they call it K-On goes to war, is it because some of the characters look like the ones from K-ON?
And yet the popularity for it is not near as close to K-on. Which by the way… where…. hint hint..
I love your artwork. You guys are amazing artists. I would like to someone else do this well. The Japanese don’t stand a chance against your art!
@Kanji
I’m not sure what you’re talking about.
๐
Are you talking about the shirt…? >_>;;
Amusingly enough, that’s an actual frame from the episode…
Yeah, it really is surprisingly good, I honestly think that this is the best show of the season (not counting FMA:B which started earlier) with Durarara!!, Kimi ni Todoke and Katanagatari being the runners up. There’s all this backstory that seems like it will eventually rise to the fore. It and the exposition are presented rather well and in a way that doesn’t interfere with the character development. I’m curious where the story will actually go, though… It has a lot of potential.
Kristen & Azzy: Exactly my thoughts. Loved it from the first episode. It’s also got a great atmosphere, kinda laid back. Looking forward to every new episode. Keep up the great subbing!
I’m agree, this series is the black horse of the season, too much to read between the lines and feels that is gonna be better in the next eps
Yup, it’s pretty damn good. It’s right up alongside Aria in the atmosphere setting and pacing, however, I’d say that while it’s just as cutsie it’s in a different direction.
Azzy Says: “…with Durarara!!, Kimi ni Todoke and Katanagatari being the runners up.”
oh but Katanagatari and especially Kimi ni Todoke are already good right from the start and are getting better at every episode; I just can’t agree with Sora no Woto being the best show this season and Kimi ni Todoke being a runner up =P
This Sora no Woto episode kinda reminded me of Baccano for some reason
Maybe you’ll agree with Sora no Woto being the best this season since Kimi ni Todoke is from last season?
i try to post this in the morning, but:
1) bye the time i don’t remember the name of the city
2) my fingers get tired of use the web on a little phone

what about k-on doesnt go to war season 1 episodes 11-13?
Woo! Episode 6. Thanks Chihiro.
I too am wondering about the remaining K-On! episodes. Since you said you are concentrating on single series at a time, do you have a predetermined list or are they just randomly drawn?
it seems like these files keep getting bigger and bigger. ๐
great release tho.
i really don’t care how big a file is when it looks so good
and gratz on one more good anime ep out
anyone know what the shirt says?
If you read the Kanji separately, it reads:
“night” and “Russia” and “death” and “agony/pain”
OR if you do a little Kanji combining, you get:
“night dew” (left two) and “agony of death” (right two)
OR if you combine the whole thing, you get:
Yoroshiku
BTW, “Yoroshiku” means something like “I hope we will get along”, a direct opposite of the meaning of the kanji on the shirt, which should mean something like “Kill painfully if seen at night”
As in “Nice to meet you”?
Something like that, yes.
the Yo-Ro-Shi-Ku is a joke, the characters don’t read that way as a set, but they have readings which allow that. It’s partly a joke, and partly to show how the true meaning of Kanji characters have been lost, with only a select few name characters remaining “in use” so to speak. This explains why Kanata has a Kanji name, but none of the other girls do.
But yeah, the kanji used essentially make a joke. Brilliant =D There’s a lot more in this show like that, things that’re difficult to bring across in translation. Like when kanata touches the first observation outpost in prior episode, it gives a burst of kanji, which have interest meanings, and can even be read as names, one of which is a similar bastardization of Sorami, incorrect Kanji but could have the same reading =D
Just wait till 7, where some of the frame by frame looks of things past are simply epic.
I am going ot agree this show is really good. Great atmosphere, great animation. And all this implied, “THere’s a LOT going on here folks, but we won’t tell you rigth-out what” going on. Many future sci-fi settings have a spiel early on telling you what happened. So far they have just implied everything and we have had to figur eit out. I had an arguement with a friend on whether it was even in Japan a while ago. -_-‘
And and Durarara! are the best shows for winter though so far and I don’t think anything from April is going to be as wel-written and such. I espect K-On!! to be funny, but dunno. I doubt we’ll get as much “brain food” shows as these ones. (And its odd to think the K-On! looking moeblob character design one is a brain food show. o_o)
And stuff.
The only thing this show has in common with k-on is moe-music girls. The art is better and more reminiscent of Kannagi than K-on, it has an awesome story and thought-provoking background, and it get’s a million-trillion-gazillion times more serious than K-o could ever dream of getting.
As for if it’s in Japan or not, episode 7 proves either that it is most definitely Japan, or real-life Japanese architecture is for some reason the norm around the world in the show’s past. Trust us when we say 7 will blow your mind =D
