I just received a PM today that Doki will no longer be able to provide a translator on Kaichou wa Maid-sama, and as such, we will most likely have to cancel that project.
If you can translate and want to do Kaichou wa Maid-sama, please apply in #Chihiro-recruits.
Or if you can translate and simply want to join or do another project, please apply.
Otherwise we are going to have to cancel.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DDDDD:
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Yeeesss! Cancel this one and do Ikkitousen instead : D
Diplomatically put. かんしゃしております
It is indeed a shame, but there are people out there that quake in the shadow of the Powerful Groups.
My knowledge of Japanese has somewhat improved since i last attempted to translate the Hero Tales in 2008. The Japanese language in that anime was quite difficult and at that time i had no interest in any manga. Now i read Kaichou wa Maid-sama on onemanga and i think the dialogues are not that difficult. I could at least try to translate the first episode. Email me, if you want me to try. (I’m sorry, i will not idle on IRC at 4 AM just to get in touch with a person in a different time zone – if IRC is a must, than… no…)
Nuu, This Shoujo/Comedy must live on!
yeah, dont cancel it, this looks like smt that can be actually good
just cancel it. do what u can not try to do what u cant.
The anime didn’t look good anyways
Suffix, it’s not a matter of quaking, but that most of these groups are friends back and forth. Doki and ourselves are good friends, and thus we try not to step on each other’s toes. Respecting another group that’s going to give quality and in a good time like Eclipse generally does isn’t really “quaking” at their shadow, but respecting that there’s less of a need to duplicate work.
As such, I believe Doki pulled out from doing Angel Beats because so many others were doing it (including us) that someone is bound to do a fitting job (us, again =D ) and I think respecting their decision is only natural, especially as people who have at least a passing interest in Japanese culture, a mainstay of which is respect.
Would we still like to do it? Sure! And we may yet, if things go well. But at this point we really need to pick up another consistent TLC.
And I’m sorry, JinJi, but AFAIK, IRC is required. Not necessary to idle on it, waiting for a response, but at least coming on, sending a message, and going back and forth at the least. You’d be surprised how many of us are up late at night (US Time) and talk to our members on the other side of the world =D As such, if you feel you’re up to it, by all means come into #chihiro-recruits and drop us a message!
i just read your main report in addition to loave this a bunch ,web site such a lot of.
