(Actually the really funny thing is… we’ve had instructions about ordered chapters posted in the FAQ page for months, if not years. I guess nobody ever reads the FAQs, huh?)

Nobody should ever have any questions about why we cut out the OP/ED ever again. Mirage Edit: ^ That won't stop them. In response to a few comments: Who cares if DVDs do it, they're self-contained. We pretty much HAVE been answering this in every post even though I'm fairly sure it was stated in the original post. Why would you download episodes in different resolutions? >_>

I’m back from the dead, not that anyone cared. Lilpri 7 is off me, 8/9 is delayed until I return from my trip this weekend.
I think updated versions of the K-on OP/EDs are delayed because the encoders computer is busted. They are still uncompromisable, even after official lyrics. Actually, I think they’re harder to understand now, imo.
Working is moving along fine, and I have no idea about anything else.

I’m rather sick of people(person?) demanding that we do it so I think I’m going to take over the edit since no one else seems to care. Constantly yelling at us to do something is not going to make us do it any faster, so shut up. I’m delaying it a week for every new comment demanding that it be released. I’m also delaying it half a month for all the comments that have already been made demanding it. Lucky for those who so desperately want it, most of them have been marked as spam, so a quick search only throws up 2. I’ll get on that edit in a month.

oh What a good idea you had! It’s quite useful! I didn’t notice until you posted this! ;p All my files were in the same folder except for episode 7. My thought were at that time, “oh they cut the op/ed in episode 7. What a good idea! They already had op/ed files in separate files. It saves us some bandwidth.” XD oh well, I was really in the wrong!

cant say i ever watch the op/ed’s past the first episode anyway so anything to save storage space is fine with me.
I don’t think you can yet. I did some rudimentary searching and it looks you have to patch an older version of ffmpeg and recompiling it.
Perhaps it’d be better to create Avidemux scripts to stitch the files together user-side?
O how funny, I don’t even know what op/ed stands for. I download the episodes the moment they come out and have not had a problem soooooo what is an op/ed? Can you eat it?

i think some people just download from tokyotosho a torrent file and they don’t even look at the fansub website.

That’s why I love SD mkv – there is no things like ordered chapters.
I don’t care about “bandwidth and disk space”, I just want to watch without headache.

Chihiro just advancing their subbing method. Get a brain if you dont have one right now. You will know what the benefits
It works fine on my computer, and it does save a lot of space (i’ve 5TB of anime, at least 25% of that is op/ed). Besides it’s becomming more and more widespread.
However I do understand that it has it’s hassle. It won’t work on any mediacenter (I use XBMC, which is probably the most known and ‘advanced’, and still it won’t work), I think it’sbecause most systems use mplayer, and since mplayer doesn’t natively handle linked chapters, it may be some time before it works.
Still I believe it’s a matter of choice that should be left to the group. and let’s be frank, most of the time, when you watch several episodes, you skip the ops/eds.

sigh, I’ve been watching anime subs released by chihiro for a long time, no problem with the chapter order, working well,
some ppl just have difficulty to understand what it is, how it works… ,why chapter order…

What really gets me is how it’s taken some people half a dozen episodes to realize that they’re missing the OP/EDs in the first place. Sadly, I think Chihiro could put a reminder in every episode release post and someone fool would still flip out over how the group is full of jerks who don’t know how to encode, are big, fat poopy-heads, etc.
Small note: Ordered chapters doesn’t work if you use the latest MPC HC 64bit in combination with CCCP. At least not for me. Guess I’m stuck with the old 32bit version that comes with CCCP(where’s mah 64bit cccp 🙁 )
I’m glad to hear that such a proactive stance against dumbasses has been taken.
It’s not about the unknowing of ordered chapters (because, granted, we all at one time had to learn what ordered chapters are all about)
It’s more about them painting “Idiot” on their forehead and complaining about this problem, when they could have simply did a quick search (saaayyyy…. through previous K-On!! posts?) Where the answer would have been blatantly obvious.
They should post a small disclaimer as a link to the faqs under each episode post so everyone can point and laugh at that person for not reading it despite it always being there.
At first I didn’t know and dislike Chihiro’s too (Asura Cryin 1st season). <- 100% because I thought yours have no op/ed
But when I found out the 'truth', I admitted that your 'way' is smart, reducing my DL time, and save my disk space, to put it simply: AWESOME :D, and I was a fool.

Forget going to google, I think they expected people to maybe click on the little link that says, “Frequently Asked Questions” on the side of the side.
It’s that place most sites have where people can go to see if there are answers to their questions which may or may not be asked frequently.

If you ever get any idiots on IRC or anywhere else asking about this, just don’t even bother banning or whatever. Just don’t reply back. Eventually, they’ll figure out that you guys (like a lot of groups these days) are going with Ordered Chapters.

if you’re using the 64 bit mpc hc. you can use just use window media player for vista/windows to play the videos. eventhough it’s hella annoying, its not really inconvenient.
saving space >>> having to cut out op/end just to make room. you should be glad they are doing it for you.

Personally i dont mind if an anime is with ordered chapters i use KMPlayer i can see them just fine.
