According to CR, they translated 
(hapinesutoon) to Happiness Stone. For consistency, we will keep our version, Happiness Tones. However, if it is proved that Happiness Stone is the correct translation, we will need to appraise their engrish and update it as a batch when the show has finished.

I study Japanese and only once have I ever seen them use a single character to convey two sounds in that way. It can be done stylishly like in the case of Bakemonogatari (nicely translated as Ghostory) but they wouldn’t do it for something as mundane as ‘x object’ from fantasy land.
If they really meant to say Hapiness stone they would have added another ‘su’ after the first one. Learn to Engrish CR.

CR subs sucks big time! How they got licenses on anime such as Naruto et. al.?
They (CR) have the license to stream it, however the actual subs that are used are provided by Viz Media. CR also did not receive the translation license for Bleach. That will probably be mutilated by Viz Media also.

@Takeyo: I have heard “Monstory” as well but I don’t like it as much because Monstor isn’t how you spell monster, so it looks odd (moar liek pokemonstory, amirite?). Oddly enough, the titles for a number of the individual character arcs (which all have gatari in them) also have nice portmanteaus. If distributors rename a game or anime series they should try to stick to the translation rather than coin some new name based on their personal preferences which is often the case.
I don’t like CR, they took bleach away from me, I guess i’ll just have to wait another week now for 274, anyway, I’m starting to love this group besides some others, and can’t wait for K-on!! 09 xD. Take your time though, quality not quantity!

Also, I heard that some executives of an anime studio in Japan saw the difference between CR subs and a good fansubber, and were visibly upset.
Wouldn’t surprise me one bit. Each side is stressing different things, translation quality aside.
Fansubs stress presentation a lot more then CR does and probably ever will. Karaoke, typesetting and styling are all primarily presentation factors to get people to choose your group over another group that’s subbing the same show.
CR doesn’t really have to compete with anyone else (aside from fansubs). They have the license for their shows and no one else does, so they probably don’t care as much how it looks. Thus, no TSing, Karaoke or styled subs. This also helps them get things out faster which I assume is rather important when simulcasting.
Fansubs can also afford to do higher level encoding on the episode itself. CR needs to stream it’s content, so it can’t go around making 1080p encodes that are half a GB. It would probably end up laggy and expensive.
