I not expect much from this show.
All tales series are mess up and nearly to call suck after they became animation.
Finally if I not mistake some thing this show still has the same directer from the previous tales shows.
So it highly chance it will end in the same……..

@Sage: Bear in mind that the other tales anime were trying to cover a whole game, so they were heavily abridged. (Why dont they just make a complete series then…) But with this vesperia anime you have a whole movie to show a prequel to the game. Since it is an original story there is nothing to abridge.
Any guess as to when this will be finished?
I wonder if Abyssal Chronicles will release first or chihiro.
@ Kanti – The game was released on PS3 in PAL regions, if I remember right PS3 games arent region locked. Just import it from Australia.

From the research i have done, the PAL version was released in 2009 for the Xbox 360 but the PS3 version remains a Japan exclusive title. You have a source on that contrary information?

What the hell do you want? First you say you don’t expect much from it because it would be a condensed version of the game. But when you get something that is original, albeit a prequel with good care in making it a stand alone work you actually WANT a condensed slapshot anime version? Make up your mind dude.

@ Master Shadow I love awesome bosses. When I worked in a factory, I had this huge Samoan supervisor named Matt. Super cool guy, lazy dude who knew my job was easy and had a lot of downtime so whenever the plant manager wasn’t around (who would actually get on my case if I was sitting around) we could just sit and chill, take my time.
I don’t think I’ll ever have another job that easy.

Just wondering, how are you romanising the twins’ names? Technically it would be Hisuka and Shasteiru but of course you need to (pseudo-)westernise them, like all other Tales names (apart from the odd one that is obviously based on a Japanese archetype, like the Fujiyabashis). I’ve seen Shastere and Chastel being used by fans, as well as Hisca for the other sister.

We actually are skirting around the issue of Americanizing their names by simply referring to them as “The twin with tits” “the twin without.” Amazing how much easier that makes everything.
BTW, bonus points and a cookie to anyone who can explain how twins have different rack sizes. Kristen’s trying to figure out how she lost out in that area.

The movie stands as a story on its own, but makes a lot of game references that you prolly need to have played the series to understand / get in the first place. So yes, while it’s a prequel, it really needs that baseline knowledge to fully understand things.
On the subject of it ending with “lawl go buy the game now” and why it doesn’t tell the story from the game… well, watch it and you’ll understand. It’s definitely not a marketing ploy to make you buy the game; just a nice touch to the universe it’s set in.
