This has got to be the strangest show I have ever seen. The animation is weird, the plot is weird, the vocabulary is weird… it’s just… all weird.

It’s not a weird plot at all. Mysterious funny-haired rich people move into a village of boring funny-haired poor people. Villagers start dying of mere normocytic normochromic anemia. Much forced drama ensues. Y’know, the kind of thing that happens in every small village nobody cares about.
The doctor is pretty gar, though, even if he is as dumb as a post.
your right the animation is weard their eyes freak me out . they talk weard but the plod is interesting . people move into town suddenly people die by the same disease outbreak or a higher power . good plot .. why u guys subbing this if it is such a weard anime ? not mentioning the fact that episode 4 is already out and subbed while u guys just finished 3 . but well quality owns speed is what most people think

Some of the subs are unreadable when they overlap with the captions from the anime. Maybe it’s just me… anyone else having a hard time?
Everything seems fine with the 720p using cccp mpc. What are you using crimsonmai?
I have the 720p and I use wmclassic. All the name intros and the dates are on top of the Japanese, making it very hard to read.
I don’t dislike it for it’s weirdness, I just don’t like the female-to-male ratio of characters.
Anon-kun: there’s actually a pretty even ratio, for a chihiro show.

I’m using MPlayer OSX Extended. Each time a character is introduced the anime captions are shown and the subs overlap with them. Occasionally it’s not a problem because the subs stay on the screen longer than the captions do, but there have been a few instances where the subs aren’t readable at all, because they completely clash and overlap with each other.
I thought maybe it was just a mac issue since sometimes fonts show up differently depending on the player that you use, but it seems it’s happening to windows users as well (i.e. ThumperZ1).
There’s something different about the order it’s rendering the subs. On our “officially” supported player it probably doesn’t do that. I honestly didn’t think it was too bad of a problem, but if enough people want it, I can upload a fixed .ass somewhere. It’s not too hard of a fix.

Not sure who made the response from Chihiro, but I just wanted to say thanks 🙂 I didn’t want to come off sounding like I was complaining. I love the work you guys do, and this is the first time I’ve had any issues with reading the subs. I downloaded MPlayer OSX Extended because it was listed on your playback page, but if there is a better player I’d be happy to download that as well.

WHY DIDN’T U CUT OUT THE OP AND ED I HATE U CHIHIRO!!!! (Actually a lie you’re one of my fav fansubbers) But anyway, I like to have smaller file size and clean OP/ED. Though I can understand a little because the very beginning of the OP is different each episode… but I’d like you to at least it a try…
@crimsonmai Some of the captions are unreadable when they overlap with the subs from the anime… the opposite… using cccp/mpc with coreAVC on a win7 x64 ulti with a nividia gts 250… paused and disabled the subs to be able to read, after some rampage just changed the sub settings… you could do so to, like having them on the black below the screen (if you are able) or it at the top or just change the font.

Not that I think anyone will read this after such a late post but I should throw this out there: one of the myths of vampires is that they can’t attack you in your own home…..unless you had invited them inside. So all those country bumpkins that did invite them out of politeness…….R.I.P.
