Why do I get the feeling that this anime is based off of an acutal game…at first I was hesitant to watch, but now it’s actually good. Glad to see you are still taking the time for Xvid users (Easier to run on Windows Media Center). Dunno about this “CR” thing. Thanks again for your tireless efforts in providing us with yet another enjoyable selection of Japanese Animation.

Why should I download this over Horriblesubs? It’s basically the same, except for the shittier styling and typesetting. HS even has more signs translated than this.

Ours is edited to be less butchered, fix any errors CR made, and improve the flow of the dialog. We include OP/ED and a cleaner encode based on the transport stream and not the CR stream. If that’s not enough for you, get horrible subs instead. We won’t hold it against you if that’s your thing, since you probably don’t d/l any of our shows in the first place.

but I do agree with many, this may be an inconsistent release, so you could download from other subs, I wait for chihiro on some releases bcs i like them, but other releases that are important to me to see the day they got out, well I use other subs if there are some with good quality
Considering Every group currently subbing this is using crunchyroll subs, just go with whichever group has the best editor, because that’s all that matters when your rewording from CR.

Considering that most the staff didn’t know about this, I don’t think Chihiro really deserve the amount of flaming they’re getting for this.
I’ve seen other sub groups edit the subs from CR in the past, and they can be pretty good quality. I watched this a second time after realizing the subs were sourced from CR. I can say they’re pretty good, the only really issue I have is the subbing of “otamegane” into ” four-eyes”. But I suppose there’s not really an English equivalent of the name. And some people hate TR notes if they kept the original name (personally I like them).
So, hopefully the few members working on this will keep at it. Since I appreciate the effort towards it, and it sure beats getting it from Horrible or any other pure CR ripper ^^
I just want to point out that the majority of the “Fail CR subs” comments come from actual staff members
I really wanna get Chihiro’s release, but then i think they’ll stop releasing for two to three weeks, right in the middle of an interesting plot twist, and leave us hanging. Horriblesubs, for all its faults are fast and reliable.
So “CR” stands for ‘Crunchy Roll’? Might need a lesson on the difference between that and a ‘Normal’ subtitling. Just getting a grasp of what’s going on…not that I care for HOW it was subbed as long as it makes sense. And I guess ‘Otamegane’ is shortterm for Otaku wearing Glasses, but I can see not using that for the subtitling; would just sound too awkward.

@Mickrocrivers CR subs are disliked mostly due to their massive westernization of the content. CR always either remove honorifics, or translate them into something unnatural. And they generally change titles/names to be more western. It’s how official DVD subs and dubs go about it. Mainly because CR is intended to reach a more western and not in the know audience.
I dislike CR subs a lot for that, but sometimes you’ve just gotta roll with someone.
Is it 720p? I don’t really care if it’s an upscale, but I need a 1280×720 resolution to run it through multiAVCHD.

@de.monkeyz: Ok, that makes sense now. And it also explains a lot from our standpoint of American Licensed stuff. Thanks for the information. But it could be worse. Could be a possible sub that claim ‘Kami-Sama’ as ‘King of Hair’ or ‘King of Paper’, as ‘Kami’ could be interpreted as divinity, hair, or paper. ^^ (I know, I know, it’ MEANS ‘God’, ofcourse).

A little anime in a nutshell before d/ling this (which I will =P):
Keima Katsuragi, a second-year high school student, is an avid bishōjo game player. He is known on the Internet as “The Capturing God (落とし神, Otoshi-gami?)” for his legendary skills to be able to “capture” any 2D girl in games. However, in his actual school life, Keima is known as otamegane (オタメガネ), a derogatory portmanteau of the two words otaku (オタク) and megane (メガネ-“glasses”) and is considered nothing but a gloomy geek with thick glasses.
At the start of the series, Keima receives an e-mail offering him a contract to “capture” girls. When he accepts it, thinking it is an invitation to a game, a demon from Hell named Elsee appears! She asks for his cooperation to help her in catching runaway spirits. These spirits hide themselves inside the hearts of girls’, and Elsee suggests that the only method to force the spirits out is by “capturing” the girls hearts—making them fall in love with him and filling up the gaps which the runaway spirits hide in. Interested only in 2D girls, however, Keima is appalled by the idea and refuses the assignment as he has no romantic real life experiences whatsoever. Nevertheless, with the contract already executed, Keima has no choice but to help Elsee no matter what; if they fail, it is Elsee and Keima who will lose their heads.
While the series focuses on Keima and Elsee adventures on capturing spirits, the series also makes fun and parodying common and popular cliches about dating sims, anime character stereotypes and pop culture.

that ova was actually a troll. Its only like 1.5 mins of anime clip where almost nothing happens. Only good part is you hear Dokuro skull talking about the FALLEN GOD

Please use –disable-precompiled-headers on MKVmerger. Otherwise your releases crash explorer.exe when thumbnailing if DivXCodecs are installed.

Yeah that is strange i thought my HDD was fucking up, but only episode 1 is crashing my folder what should i do?? ( all other eps work fine )
Yeah episode 1 is crashing for me, too. In fact, I had downloaded up to like episode 8 about a week ago, and almost all of the episodes except for 6 just crashed on me, so I am redownloading them now and episode 1 STILL crashes. 😐
