I am so glad we aren’t doing Index II

Today I watched the OP of Index II. And I came to a startling revelation.

The following characters have appeared in both of Index S1’s OPs and Raingun’s OPs:
1. Mikoto
2. Kuroko
3. Uiharu
4. Saten

First two are obvious. For Uiharu and Saten, look at 00:18 in Index OP1 (in the cafe), and 00:23.5 in Index OP2 (Walking past Misaka Mikoto). Any other characters were missing from one of the four OPs.

The following characters of the list above appear in Index S2’s OP:
1. Mikoto
2. Kuroko
3. Uiharu

The following character is not:
1. Saten

Index II’s OP is now terrible, and I suggest we all boycott the series until OP2 when JC Staff will (hopefully) add her in.

Kuzu edit:

But wait! While Saten-san did not appear in Index II’s OP, she appeared in the main episode itself! A marvelous achievement compared to her insignificant performance in season 1! Here’s Saten-san in her full, non-OP cameo glory:

I noticed that too! But I don’t think I have the willpower to boycott Index II

  • Archangel

Maybe they’re saving her for the DVD/BD OVA…?

    ;_;

  • andymack

    Noooooooo, they cut amu!

  • LordOmnit

Are we going to see pictures like that guy who destroyed all his Index stuff when Mikoto didn’t show up enough for him in the first episode of INDEX II? (Did I mention it’s INDEX and NOT Railgun? Hur hur.)
But this is for a perfectly acceptable reason I feel. Not enough Mikoto is solved by moar railgun, but NO Saten cannot be solved by anything.

  • oni-nii-mus

Finally…someone notice she missing but sorry i not gonna boycott just i person missing
i think maybe the production team put a lot new character, so to balance the story she has to get out or as Archangel said maybe she in the ova, special ep etc.

  • Judas

SATEN IS THE BEST CHARACTER EVER!!!!

  • Krozam

If Saten is not in the original novels adapted in the second season, there’s no reason to add her into the anime. However, if she IS there and she’s left out of the anime, then you have a right to be angry. Personally, I don’t really care, it’s not like she’s a particularly interesting character compared to many others in the series.

  • Gyzome

Well now that you know that you aren’t going to waste your time on Index II, how about you consider finishing Railgun BD’s?

  • Phoenix911

    NO YOU!!! lol
No index is an awesome anime. lol

  • -_-

You do realise that Saten is pretty much an exclusive railgun character right?

Please forgive them and do Index II.

  • Atom

Saten is in the OP!!! Watch it again carefully! You can see her at 03:07!

  • Yeah, Saten is in the OP. 3:07 to 3:08, right before they show the chick in the maid outfit.

  • Azure_Shockwave

To the two people above. That’s not Saten, that’s Deep Blood.

Did you not watch Season 1? FAIL.

  • Azure_Shockwave

I remember her actual name, Aisa Himegami. xD AKA Deep Blood.

Touma’s also appearing in all four OP, he’s always forgotten… such misfortune…

    Railgun OP2, I didn’t see him.
Kuzu edit: He did; just not his face.

  • GolKan

There he is : around 0:38, just between the scene with Uiharu trying to do push-ups and the scene with Kongou walking with two other girls. The transition in front is really brief but we can actually see Touma followed by Index.

  • Manhatten

There are no words for ^^^

  • Nikita_Khrushchev

    NO! No Buts! fucking awesome!

i love INDEX moar than Raingun!

  • vincentdante

Too bad but fine, I’ll just grab UTW’s releases then np.

  • Shadow

Biribiri in Ep 1 of Index II…. awesome in blush mode! =)

  • KanuTousen

    Aw I love Saten-san!!!!!!

and how the hell did you manage to spot her that far away………… good lord

  • Atom

Sorry for the mistake. I was too slpeepy when I watched the opening πŸ˜€ I watched it after a good sleep and it’s really Himegami. They are too similar from this view only the flower missing πŸ˜€

  • CODEHOOKED

    lol @ Kuzu edit

I knew she would be somewhere

  • There is no possible way to tell if that was satan πŸ˜› LOL

So the hair looks similar, but thats all I can see xD

I do hope she really is on here though.

  • Jasperking

haha im sure the bluray will show some proof :p

  • ShadowRealm

well.. if u watched the episode itself… im quite sure that is saten… since u can see some1 similar to Uiharu walking next to her

  • WTFFTW

Sigh,………..well guess someones gonna say it so I’ll do it,………
Shakugan no Shana S Where?……..(let me mind read…….three weeks delay for asking in an
unrelated thread) well this was the only thread I saw with no torrent link, so maybe asking a
quasi related (Shana and Index are both by the same production company) and besides I
vote Shana X Misaka, Kristen X Kazumi and….(Kuroko teleports WTFFTW)
last heard words were: SHANA S WHERE

  • ZS

Saten is in my bed πŸ˜›

  • Fanofde4ever

@WTFFTW- Do you really not see the “Project Status” post stuck at the top of the main page?

  • WTFFTW

@Fanofde4ever -hehe my bad, I actually missed it. as it did not have a cool pic or the word(s)
Index , Shakugan , Shana , “Random Color-Ray” , Vampire or Loli in it !
Thnx 4 pointing it out BTW

  • random_passerby

woah-woah, seriously, in which episode and what minute+second was the super-little-sized Saten’s appearance occured?

Well, that’s a shame if Saten wouldn’t appear in Index II. Me doesn’t read the novel, but me doesn’t think it’s wrong to make Saten appears with more reasonably noticeable.
Saten is definitely one of my To Aru Majutsu no Index characters’ favorite πŸ™‚

  • Kurausuki

The only experience I have with the series is Railgun. Where should I go to get the first Index, as well as decent subs for Index II? O.o

  • kojika

    @ Kuzu

You really, really, ought to get out more!

  • Muyu

    @Kurausuki
Eclipse has the only reliable season 1 To Aru Majutsu no Index.
    http://eclipse.speedsubs.org/projects/index
They’re no longer subbing full time any more, so they won’t be doing Index II, to the dismay of most everyone that’s following Index II.

  • CoedeSaru

Uhm, Saten is NOT even classified as a “character” in the Index story. If she is offhand or slightly mentioned, she is referred to as “minor” or “other” character, which basically means the bitch is unimportant and insignificant in the Index story. I mean, obsess much do you? Could you possibly be any more of a creepy fanfag?

Also try and take a step back, Railgun was barely even a side story to the Index story. I mostly or really thought, that the retarded, almost entirely plotless, lesbo, pedo, fanfag, Loli, fanservice, Railgun series was an utter waste of a good f%ckin anime budget, but meh… To be honest, the Railgun series did have some nice minor character development along with some interesting background, here and there, but f*ck me, how they wasted 24 f#ckin episodes on something that could have easily been presented in 6 or less OVA eps seriously got on my NERVES!

  • Anonymous

    @CoedeSaru: u mad?

  • WTFFTW

    R I BANNED OR SOMETHING

No, but I believe our spam cleaner bot thinks you are based on your name or all caps or something.

  • ShadowRealm

basicly if u want to enjoy railgun… go read the manga its definitely nicer ..

  • Mickrocrivers

Though it is sad that you have no interest in subtitling the Second Series of Index, I DO enjoy the tidbit of information on your sabatical. I found it refreshingly funny. But I am curious as how they plan to do the ‘Spoofs’ like they did in Index I; Railgun Spoofs just weren’t funny to me as opposed to Index spoofs. (Index at Shanatan-size screaming ‘uruchai uruchai uruchai!’ is indeed funny!) Though I am curious if Touma will EVER get his memory back.

    Sincerely,
    Mickrocrivers

PS. I really IS a shame, though. I mean that.

  • Mickrocrivers

PPS. IT really is a shame, but I’ll take the fall for that PS…poor typing for the loss.

  • klaymore

need to wait for the blu-ray to see if that is Saten-san or not…

  • CoedeSaru

    @Anonymous-
Yes you could say that I am a little angry, at J.C. Staff. I loved Index and even have the Disc release, but it costs on average around 100 K dollars to produce a single ep of anime and they I think they flushed that money straight down the toilet with the garbage they made with Railgun IMO. I love most of their series and even own a lot of them on Disc release, but I would ass rape a goat, before I would ever pay money for some trifling, mindless drivel like Railgun. They could have easily used that money for like a Zero no Tsukaima sequel that an immense fanbase still yearns for and for which they do have story material to adapt. They could have spent that money countless different ways, making an anime that is worthy of the J.C. Staff name. The one and only thought that comes to mind when I think of Railgun, is FAIL! Railgun should never have been more then just a short OVA series like Shakugan no Shana S. That is though, just my opinion.

I mean, I do kinda see where they went with that, since there is that whole Japanese obsession and fetish for little school bitches in school uniforms, so meh… πŸ˜›

  • @ CoedeSaru:

Wow, all the vulgarities and insults just made whatever point you were trying to put forth completely worthless. Regarding Zero no Tsukaima, I thought it was getting progressively worse with every season. While the story and concept was intriguing and fresh in the first and possibly second season, the fanservice and slapstick comedy level in the third season was pretty off putting and repetitive.

Why are you being so cynical? I mean, I thought that Railgun did indeed lose some steam after awhile, and plot wise, it wasn’t as good as Index, but it wasn’t terrible by any stretch of the imagination. Though, considering the fact that Railgun was also adapted from the manga, anything plot related is not J.C. Staff’s fault.

Also, how in the world can you like Index so much but hate Railgun? Besides, other than insult after insult, you had barely any constructive (read: intelligible) criticism to offer. In what way was it bad? What could it have done to have improved? What did Index do right that Railgun did wrong? Don’t like the plot? Why? Don’t like the characters? Why?

If fans actually offer constructive criticism instead of spouting “some trifling, mindless drivel”, the entire community would be so much more well off. πŸ™‚

  • CoedeSaru

@Actar: Are you mentally diminished in some way, like from some type of organic defect or head trauma, just illiterate or both? Read my first comment, moron, if you want criticism. Wheather you find it “constructive” or not, doesn’t fuckin matter, this is not a communist party debate, it is only differing opinions. Take your fanfag opinion and shove it. Awww, boo-fuckin-hooo, “vulgarities”? Go back to your Christian sect and take your ignorant, purist values with you.

“Constructive criticism” you say? How about the fact that the character development was minor, minuscule and practically non-existent? This piss ant, 2 volume, side story, did nothing, for a more profound, in-depth nor explanatory evolution of the parent story. As well as doing nothing for the progression, evolution and understanding of the main Protagonists of the parent story. The only “development”, if I can even refer to it as that was of insignificant and unimportant characters. The entirety of the story was presented in some lesbo girl’s utopia. How did the plots from Railgun and Index differ? That would take too long to ex[plain properly and if you didn’t notice the vast and/or drastic difference in character portrayal, character interaction as well as the actual plot presentation or progression, I think you should invest in a seeing eye dog, then try to watch both series again. The biggest problem is that they took a meager, rather blasΓ©, dull, lackluster, short, side story (which without the existence of the two short Vols. would be defined as being pure waste of time filler) , that should have never been more then 6 episodes long and turned it into a nothing, but fluff or better said, school girl fan service, waste of time, 24 episodes long. πŸ˜‰

  • CoedeSaru

@ Actar: One last thing, since you seem to delight in your ignorance, but let me clue you in about J.C. not being at fault for the plot problems (don’t get me wrong, I love J.C. and they are among my top 5 favorite Studios). J.C. Staff is not only a Studio, but they are also Producers, meaning they weren’t “hired” to make the anime. They bought the animation rights from the author/creator, then hired or used an in-house screen writer to do the manga adaption. Instead of concentrating on things that were important to the plot or its progression, they concentrated on fanservice and yuri based humor.

You can try to shine this up any way you like, but fool’s gold is called that, since only fools believe it to be the real thing. This was simply, just a business, milking the cash cow for more profit and on that note I have nothing to critcise. I just watched this, as many, MANY other fans did, expecting the quality and grandeur of Index, only to be sorely disappointed. I thought Railgun was a horrible production, that simply catered to the lowest common denominator, i.e. fan service for creepy “otakus” consisting of pedos with school girl fetishes and retarded fanboys and fangirls that have twisted fantasies about yuri crap.

  • Fanofde4ever

@Coede and Actar- Are your lives so non-existent that you have to argue in here about a series the group isn’t even subbing?

  • Shadow

I’m thinking Coede is a closet fan of Railgun that maybe thought Uiharu wasn’t getting her skirt lifted enough and in turn lashes out at any other fan of Saten because of her lack of diligence.

I could be wrong, of course. πŸ˜‰

And going back to the Deep Blood subject… ever since I saw Hayate no Gotoku, now every time I hear Himegami, my brain spits back, “My name is Princess God! … I was born in darkness and in darkness I live … I will save the world one day!” LOL!

  • ronelm2000

I still am sad that Chihiro isnt subbing Index II Y_Y

    @Coede and Actar look…everyone has thier opinions…

Although I did hate Railgun a bit for its yuri, I still think it was worth 24 episodes. =D
They just need to slack off bit by bit from the fanservice and everyone’s happy =]
