Going with 720p only because I’m a lazy jackass. We know that all BDs are 1080p native, and the only reason why encoders ever do 720p only is out of laziness, after all, and not because 1080p would just be a waste of space.

Ah, I see. So the Blu-ray source IS in fact 720p? Unusual, but by no means unheard of.
I presume in that case that it was animated in 720p, so to their credit (and also to yours) they have chosen not to do a dodgy 720p->1080p upscale (as some have), but actually present it in the native res at a reasonable bitrate? This Anon can’t say fairer than that.
In that case, this is the best quality we’ll get, probably at quite a good size – so thanks! ♥

hikaricore an A….wow you guys are tards. No one is truly complaining and everyone is enjoying it. DUH that’s why we wait. If anything it shows loyalty to Chihiro because we only want these subs. However, when ep 10 was released on the 22nd and the last episode aired on the 24th I think people have some wiggle room to inquire about project status. The 1080p issue is a done deal though since it’s a poor upscale making 720p the way to go and we should all trust the vet encoders.

@|ZERO||: I hardly see how asking or demanding faster service when people are providing you with goods for free is productive. You get what you pay for, raw generosity. It wouldn’t hurt to reciprocate. Project status, with how many series Chihiro is doing relative to their staff is a nonissue. Every sub company faster than Chihiro is doing maybe one or two series, unlike the 4 or so that Chihiro is doing.
If you really needed your FA fix, go elsewhere. HorribleSubs releases day-of-air, but I stick with Chihiro for archiving thanks to the quality.

Hey, they are doing it for free out of the goodness of their hearts, they DON’T get paid for this! Shouldn’t we be a little more grateful raather than only complaining. In general their subs are better than a lot of the others and they do a lot of different series at the same time without sacrificing quality. Thankyou Chihiro staff for all the hard work, looking forward to when you release ep12 on it’s own ( assuming you are), if not I’ll just download the batch while only allowing ep 12 to actually download as it’s a pain and waste of download allowance(costs a lot in Australia), not your prob though, hey, have a great year Chihro!!!!
