God, I’ve been waiting FOUR YEARS for that scene. The light smile, the tug on the T-Shirt… Hauuu~
If you’re asking about why there’s a picture of Nagato up and not Kyonko, please answer a logical question. Kyonko disappeared, so why would you expect her to be in a blog pic?
Anyways, we took most lines straight from the novel and edited some of the less sensible ones. Oh, and the movie is 2 hours 40 minutes long, not the usual 1 hour 20 – 1 hour 40.
Kuzu edit: Let me clarify this a little. The lines that are taken from the novel are from the English adaptation of the novel, not the original. The script of the movie (included in the limited edition release) is referenced for the parts that are not in the novel.
1080p: It’s like where’s Waldo.
720p: Is she over there?
480p: or over there?
hmmmm.
Little late there.
I won’t name names, but it was waiting for somebody to typeset it for well over a month.
Guess I should get around to watching the series before I attempt any of the movies.
There’s only 1 movie, but yes.
Sucks that he’s ‘missing’ but I blame a certain character for this…in any case, thanks for the release.

PS. I know this is just me, but I think it’s Kyon, not Haruhi, that’s causing all these things. She would just be a catalyst, but that’s just my foolish speculation.
@Mickrocrivers
I’ve read all 9 books that are currently out, and I would agree with you.
This was a good movie. I saw Mazui’s release, and I wasn’t disappointed at all. I saw it first at NYAF back in October.
Great job KyoAni/Kadokawa!!
Well, I watched Doki’s already awesome release of this movie over 3 months ago, so unfortunately there really is no good reason left for me to download your version and watch it again. You’re a little too late with this guys, sorry. :-/
Holy crap, I was NOT expecting this at all.
Thank you so much!!!!!
@cool guy – blame the loli. she knows how to contact me for emergencies XD
keep up the good work ๐
@Mickrocrivers
Spoilers aside… Everything is ” John Smith “‘s fault… :p
Mazui vs Chihiro =S
Meh, I’ll jus download BOTH versions!
Yeah, I watched Doki’s like two weeks ago… when I saw the length of the movie I was like “Holy shit, seriously? They must have had an enormous budget for them to be able to make a movie that long.”
Anyway, I probably would have preferred this one, if for no other reason than the “novel translations”.
By the way, you can read the novel in like less than half the time it would take to watch this movie. Still, awesome animation…
@PINGAS: Yeah, the books are all very fast reads.
Just a quick question.. I just DLed the Suzumiya Harui no Yuutsu batch, but it seems as if the first episode is picking the story up where an other episode left it. O_O Could someone please explain this to me?
The 2nd season events are chronologically mixed in with the events of the first season.
Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody occurs directly after the baseball tournament ep (The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya).
The next 13 eps, Endless 8 and Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya arcs, slot in between the Remote Island arc and Ep 00 (The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina).
The last 3 eps from season 1 occur directly after Ep 00.
The movie occurs directly after them. It’s a good idea to have seen the whole TV series before the movie, so that you understand certain events.
Is it just me or is the 1080p rip very quiet, soundwise? I’m really needing to blast my volume to have it at an audible level…
To that “Someone” person, you will want to skip the middle 6 eps of Endless 8 arc, seriously, don’t watch it. It’s really bad for health!
@ A
it may have something to do with your audio setup. the audio for this, as its a blu-ray and not TV, is in 5.1 and chihiro encoded as FLAC. my audio is fine, but of course im using a 5.1 system. just check your audio settings to be sure its being output to match our system.
also, if any of you did already download the Mazui one, i would get this one instead. its 4GB instead of 8GB(why mazui?) with identical quality which means theres no wasted bit rate and should have smoother playback for you with a bit older systems. plus the novel based subs are nice.
^^ your system*
@S’ohw:
Wasn’t trying to spoil, it was just speculation from what I’ve seen from the series. After all, in order to have power, one must acknowledge that it exists. And only Kyon acknowledges such power…despite his ‘spectator’ stance and over-explanation.

PS. Yes, I too loved that moment with Yuki. Personally she’s a much more developed character all around.
THE MOVIE IS EPIC
the typeset was awfully ugly and you say i suck at it Kristen
Thanks for the release. THis completely erases endless eight bad flavor!
@magnum: I’m reinstalling CCCP now; I think something may have gone funny as it’s using DirectVobSub instead of Haali.
It worked.
Something of note concerning the subs:
In the scene where Yuki’s Escape Program is activated (when everyone is in the SOS room), is it me or are the typed subs on the screen (that go with YUKI.N’s Japanese typeface) a bit dodgy? I see most of the English subbed sentences cut off near the end. The version I watched was the 480 version, FYI.
Apart from that, great job guys, though I’ve seen the movie in a cinema already, I still decided to check out your subs for archiving purposes.
@Kinny: The 1080p raw was completely messed up, it looks like. There were portions where the video image froze/stalled/flickered while the subs remained fine. I’m going back to the 720p version for this.
Thank You!
Download Links need updates and nyaa.eu was hacked and is no longer a correct Nyaa torrent link. It should be trailing to https://nyaa.si/
Done. Thanks.
