Smile Precure 07 Released!

lol Reika. I really have to wonder though. Why doesn’t Precure get massive popularity outside of Japan? It’s absolutely kickass.

In other news, Minami-ke season 4 has been announced. If interested in translating it for us, let me know. Don’t know if we’re gonna do it, but always helps to be prepared.

  • If it’s still Asread doing the 4th season (instead of Doume from S1) I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

You know, back in the day some German TV station aired Futari wa PreCure! and back than it got close to zero viewers…
Also (if you work like 4kids does) the shows make little to no sense whatsoever since they always contain (as you know) a LOT of Japanese cultural references (eg. The Red Ogre in this show) and they just americanize it. (Yakisoba -> Burgers)
And if you don’t do that you’d have to explain all those “weired” Japanese customs (like bowing while greeting the Teacher in the morning (and others), after school class clean up, the different shoes you wear indoors and outdoors – do I need to go on?)
For the standard Chihiro addict thats nothing to ponder about but try to imagine a four year old Texan girl sitting in front of the TV and trying to make sense of that all. Do YOU think that their parents could explain to them what that all means?
I do not think so. Reason being that some people down there really believe that Germans still use the “Hittler Gruß” (greeting) which actually German law forbids to use.
And confronting these people with Japanese Pop culture? I can already hear the telephones i ringing at the television station which would send this with iritated parents on the other side just ranting about how they could send such weired (unamerican) shows and so on…

And with that impending thread there will be no export of it. Why? Because most other TV stations just buy the american TL version and retranslate them into their language.

    You can hate me now

You weren’t allowed to watch Sailor Moon as a child were you?

thanks for the release, going to enjoy this as I eat my breakfast 😀 !!

as for why this show is not populari outside japan .. i dunno .. for me, this show is way better than Sailor Moon

a little of topic. Are you guys going to sub Saint Seiya Omega? It has a new author so hopefully the story will be better than Kurumada’s (the original author) and the new character designs are very Heartcatch Precure-like 😀

“I really have to wonder though. Why doesn’t Precure get massive popularity outside of Japan? It’s absolutely kickass”. I’t’s a Japanese children’s show (It is. Don’t try to deny it) that isn’t aired in most places outside of Japan. If it’s not aired in most places outside of Japan, then how would most kids from other countries know about it? There’s nothing odd about it, it makes perfect sense.

If what you mean is why it’s not popular among us adults (I sure hope that’s not what you mean…) outside of Japan……Then I’m not going to try to explain that you….If you can’t understand that one on your own, you’re beyond help…..And chaos_blue is absolutely right, what he/says is 100% true.

I also find your comment about Sailor Moon rather funny, considering it should be profoundly obvious that most people that were children during Sailor Moon’s time, and that lived outside of Japan, would never even have heard of it. The only Japanese “anime” I knew of when I was a kid was Pokemon and Digimon, and of course, I had no idea it was Japanese, nor did I care, because, lol, I was a kid. I only started watching anime 10 years ago when I was 14. Before that I hardly knew what it was.

I think she was asking why it wasn’t licensed outside of Japan. I made the Sailor Moon comment to rebut the assumption that Japanese kids shows can’t work in the US. Also you’re way too young if you only watched Digimon and Pokemon, but not Sailor Moon, DBZ, Gundam Wing, Trigun, YuYuHakusho, etc… -Fan

    … I can only say that western people is sure complicated … and maybe they take children’s show waaay to seriously ^^;

I told you I started watching anime 10 years ago when I was 14….If you do the math, that should tell you I’m 24. When Sailor Moon started it’s run in 1992 I was 5…I’m not American ok? There was no Sailor Moon anywhere on my TV when I was 5, 10, or 14 for that matter, and I and everyone else I knew had never heard of it. And if I had I doubt I would have been interested. Pokemon and Digimon however ran on the regular television, and was popular. i watched quite a bit of DBZ later btw, and good god how I hate that shitty series….Trigun I watched when I was much older, and it was better, but I didn’t like that one either. Only good thing in the show was the main character, Vash. He was awesome.

How could you not like Wolfwood? I don’t think I take your opinion seriously anymore. -Fan

I vote Fuji-san for the secret base!!!

  • Rokudaime

Ah, ye, Wolfwood. You’re right, he was cool. It’s been friggin’ forever since I watched the series, and I didn’t really like it, so I don’t remember much from it, hence I forgot about Wolfwood. I just remember Vash because he was so hilariously funny.

    Just to clarify things
Me also watched Sailor Moon, me later grabbed SM in Japanese w/ English subtitles ‘cuz I started wanted to know the whole story… Also watched DBZ, YuGiOh, Pokémon, Digimon, Detective Conan (US: Case Closed) and stuff like that.
Else Rokudaime makes a valid point concerning us talking about Shows made for Japanese Children. Have you ever seen the Advertisements that are cut from in-between the episodes???
If not, I’ll gladly upload something from HeartCatch for you.
