Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to – 10

Sena at a LossWe have 3 mini episodes again this week. Sena has a really close call, Rinna cheers on Aito, and Aito grills Ashisu in the rain.

Enjoy!

Edit: If you have playback issues with this episode, let us know what player you used (try make sure it is up to date first), and we will look into the problem.

Edit2: We realized that the original release had too high a system requirement: You had to use xy-vsfilter, have at least 1GB free RAM, and have a powerful CPU. Sorry about that. We made a patch which will add an extra subtitle track (the new default track), which provides a much lighter execution. This should work on libass players like VLC as well. People who could play the old version can still get the full TS by selecting the second track.

Hey guys, thanks for the release. Though I’m having a bit of a problem with this episode. I’m using the latest version of VLC and a few seconds after the opening, the frames pause on the establishing shot of the supermarket, the sound continues for a little while, another freeze frame appears with the shot on the cash register and then finally the sound of the video resets to the opening theme. After that when you close the player the sound continues going and resetting until you manually end the vlc exe from the processes

The cash register crash(both times) even with xy-SubFilter and madVR.

Could the real track be default. In reality more people are going to reasonably be watching the subs as intended. It is the same reason you use 10bit encoding. If people opt to use some crazy player or are trying to watch it in a system made in the last ice age they can just as easily change the subtitle track while they are also re-encoding it to 8bit to be able to even watch it in the first place. Now instead the majority of users now need to keep changing the subtitle track. It is not as though this is particularly hard but it is a memory issue. It is easier to remember when watching a lot of series oh yea I want to watch this on some crazy player or on my grandmothers computer so better switch to the special subs, rather than oh I got a normal setup and I got to remember to disable the special subs b/c I am not at my grandmothers house.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, that is a valid point. The only problem was that your system could be brand new and it’ll still lag at the register signs. The only people who were able to watch it without lagging reported that they had a Core i7 CPU or equivalent. It is essentially the other end of the spectrum. You had to go watch it on some powerful system or a really well-configured system. 10bit video is fine since you can go build a new budget system for a couple hundred dollars, or pick up a few year old computer someone threw out, and that would be capable of playing 10bit on nearly any media player that supports it. On the other hand, this was causing a number of people to lag/freeze.

  • Thanks for the release guys ^^
