I’m actually really enjoying this show. It got me to just laugh while not caring about any details. Everything about it feels like it’s just making fun of it’s own genre, cliches, and tropes along with a few jabs at Japan’s values. The show runs at not taking itself seriously while having fun with and at itself. And that is exactly the angle from which I am watching it. Fun where it’s ok to just relax, not think too much about the small stuff (World destruction/saving the world blah blah life and death stuff.) while enjoying it’s gags. It’s absurdism and that’s exactly why it’s good.
Yah know, you ain’t alone on that.
