A bit late, but enjoy our release of Death Note (2017) Ren’ai Boukun.
Edit: v2 patch for those who downloaded the previous release that was missing the dialogue fonts.
Note: Guys, we’re still looking for more manpower, currently we are recruiting TLers, Editors, TSers, QCers.
Well this is a pleasant surprise. I had no idea you guys were picking this up, otherwise I wouldn’t have already watched half of the series.
Is it OG TL or it’s edited CR?
That one is translation checked CR then edited.
Thank you very much. I love your work! Keep going gyus!!!!
I’m still waiting for the day that an anime as good as Death Note, and, importantly, that is in the same genre, comes out. I know many good anime series, but I don’t know of any battle of wits, detective mystery kind of anime series that come even close to Death Note. It’s a real shame really. It’s a source of longing for me.
Your best bet is probably watching Code Geass. Aside from that, the genre gap only widens. If it’s mysteries in general you’re into, I’d recommend watching Hyouka. It’s does mystery surprisingly well, and it’s got a genius lead character, but it has none of the action and intensity from Death Note. You might also consider watching Magic Kaito 1412. It’s sort of a mystery show, but more in the vain of a Saturday-morning cartoon, i.e. episodic and a bit childish but still quite good.
I watched Hyouka already, and no, it’s not really what I’m thinking about, nor is it all that good either, mystery and wits wise. The mystery aspect of the show seems a bit forced to me, it’s rather other aspects of that show that makes it somewhat appealing to me, such as the romance. But it’s not really anything like Death Note, or what I’m looking for. It’s lighthearted and a bit cutesy. I’m looking for a mostly very serious, dark, mature, whatever you wanna call it, mystery/detective/battle of wits anime, and I also prefer it to be one long and big battle, like in Death Note, rather than many new small cases/mysteries to solve. One big mystery and battle of wits rather than many small and independent arcs, if you will. And yeah, I rather like the action and intensity (especially the intensity) in Death Note. I’ll try watching Code Geass. Maybe that has a bit of what I’m looking for. I find it kind of strange that anime shows like Death Note barely exist to be honest…I mean, it’s soooo good!
I enjoy reading this series and seeing it animated is nice but the art/style is really putting me off. It’s very To Love-Ru when it should look more like Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo imo.
