I can’t see any reason to subbed this while there is a lot of others anime that’s need to subbed. [Eclipse] already do a great job while subbing this.

Pfft, I wasn’t even sure you guys where going to sub this. Doesn’t matter if you sub it or not it doesn’t bother me. I’ll stick with SS-Eclipse for several reasons that I don’t need to repeat.
I don’t normally comment but…..eto Why do Hayate? I am sure Eclipse has this covered Eclipse = best subs ever. And for the asses calling Hayate Shit Fuck you! Hayate is epic and so shall it stand. u know why they subbed this? maybe because they felt like it. keep in mind fansubbers do what they do not for you, but cause they want to do it. if you dont like it, who cares. they did it cause they felt like it.
Firstly I’m from England where we use the English language correctly and most of you haters need to learn to spell properly and use correct grammer, until you can do that may I suggest
that you stop hating on Chihiro?! if you believe you can do a better job or want other
shows subbed please by all means go start your own fan sub group and we’ll all
come and judge your releases, the staff at Chihiro are allowed to sub whatever series they
wish, regardless as to whoever else is subbing it.
So from me to Chihiro a huge thanks for subbing in the first place without you some animes would never be seen in the western world, and thanks again for not letting the many many trolls get you down.

1st: If you want to sub Hayate, feel free. Note however that you are asking for all the comments you’re getting. Personally I don’t care one way or another, but I will be getting my Hayate from Eclipse anyway. It’s all well and good though, I still watch your Asura and K-On.
Now the big one…
2nd: I don’t buy the reasons you give for not doing Xvid. Yes, I agree that MKVs have the potential for higher quality when the RAW is decent and also potentially (when the encoder is skilled) deliver smaller file sizes for those of equal quality to Xvid formats. That said, you shouldn’t only look at what situations h264 is preferable. Just as there are aspects of h264 encoding which are superior to Xvid, there are traits to Xvid which are preferable to h264.
Unfortunately, h264 is not as versatile from a hardware standpoint. Blame microsoft, or sony, whoever you want, but Xvid is near universally playable; on an Xbox, a playstation, any computer with windows, even those that are 5-10 years old and slow as all hell, and most other media devices. h264 is not. For file size… well, I guess I won’t get much into that, but I’m sure you realize, if you’re going to have h264 only, then the smaller file should be on par with a typical xvid or you defeat the purpose of SD h264.
I noticed a couple of times people have suggested or offered to explain or point out directions on how to encode your own files into Xvid from h264…. how much sense does that really make? With the amount of people that use Xvid, you’re talking about such an overall waste of time. Have one person encode it once, instead of hundreds or thousands of people encoding it on their own. You could always recruit someone for the sole purpose of encoding h264 to Xvid, and if it’s as easy as you make it out to be, you could recruit nearly anyone for it.
So stop trying to fool anyone. If you aren’t doing Xvids, it can only be for one reason, you don’t want to. Maybe you don’t want to spend the time. Maybe you are waging a personal war against Xvid and big corporation. However, it has nothing to do with the superiority of h264 over Xvid, because lets all face it, Xvid is still just as useful. If you simply don’t want to, then say so, and let’s everyone leave it at that, and we’ll all choose whether to go with another group or not based on our own needs. Personally I don’t care as long as you have SD files (I prefer smaller file size to picture quality).
Oh god no, Chihiro, why did you do this. I hope this is just one of those ‘we sub what we fucking want’ random episodes. I really hope you won’t sub more of this. Oh, and Nagi > Isumi

Er, I mean, I havent downloaded or watched this yet but, what I mean to say is its great that youre subbing this. Hayate is a popular series and fans really want to see it done “right”, whatever that exactly means.
I dont know you guys at all or why you seem to get a lot of flack from other sub groups/individuals but, to take on such a popular series is a bold move which I can only see as a test for yourselves. Im rooting for you guys.

I think you made a good choice to drop Queens Blade and pick up Hayate instead; Hayate is way better. I could not really understand your decision when you dropped Hayate at the beginning of the season (I even thought of trying to apply for the position of editor but since I am from Germany I didn’t think you would pick me though so I decided not to).

Hah that’s how it works – a group picks anime which is currently being subbed by other group for a long time and people immediately start moaning about oversubbing, going down and so on. Do someone remember sth called ‘free will’? If it’s Chihiro’s choice, respect it. All haters should fall silent for ever and ever.

I am rather suprised you are still doing this. I don’t know why everyone is flaming so much because you do this for fun and why should you stop something you do for fun if someone else is doing it already. most people tend to forget that you don’t do it for money or for the amount of people downloading it, but you do it for fun and ofcourse the warm fuzzy feeling that you helped people ;).
I am rather sad to say that I won’t be watching this show from you chihiro, because I watched HnG first season from eclipse and they are very good as well, but I see no reason why you should drop this. So goodluck witth fansubbing this 😀 and have fun 😉

I’m surprised that people say they watched season 1 from Eclipse and that they will watch season 2 from them too. If someone has seen season 1 they should realise how much season 2 fails and not watch it from any group… w/e

Your taste in anime sucks, man. The first 7 episodes of season 2 easily surpasses everything we saw in the first season. Not to say that the first season was bad, in fact I found it to be really good. Season 2 is just that amazing thus far.
You know I didn’t even bother reading all the way to the end, but when people have compared chihiro’s hayate and *SS*-Eclipse hayate. Everyone left off the SS part… it tells a lot to people that actually rate fansub groups, know ” you’re a fucking dipshit”. This proves that you’re rating a group based on their name/older projects.
I bet if I get a good typesetter from m.3.3.w a good encoder from Eclipse, afx from aniyoshi, etc… people from well known groups, and start a new group named pandora. 90% of you would say omfg they fucking suck.
ps:there have been 2-3 mentions from previous comments, and they have given plenty of reason on which group is better.

@IEveryone: It’s a well known fact that most anime fans woudn’t know quality if it hit them on the head with a baseball bat. Case in point: I’m releasing Macademi Washoi DVD rips, with edited Himatsubushi subs, but apparently, my version is “shit” compared to another version that uses the UNeditied subs(full of mistakes) but has pretty hardsubbed karaoke. NEVER trust anyone’s rating but your own. Most leeches only watch one version and proclaim all the others are shit anyway.

until now I’ve watched eclipses work and tested HorribleSubs’s but CR’s subbing is just to horrible >.<. will have to see how this does compared to eclipse. it’s always fun to have 2 to choose from. (the more the merrier :3)

When it comes to formats the words “superior” are not to be tossed around lightly. MKV does exceed xvid in terms of image quality. But when it comes to playability Mkv is a joke when compared to Xvid. Xvid is like DVD, it might be considered as “outdated” format by some, but in reality there are still quite many ppl that prefer DVD because they do not have a Blu-ray player nor want to buy one just yet.
Are you forced to buy Blu-ray player? no.. Why are you forcing ppl who just want to watch and enjoy the episode to buy a new PC to do so? Lame? selfish? Childish?
No offense to Chihiro but I understand if encoder doesnt want to waste his time for Xvid or Mp4 versions. Its not like you get paid by doing this other than trough small donations if even that.
But do blame the formats for your own Lazyness or lack of time/resources which ever it is.
As its very childish/lame to blame “others” or in this chase “formats” without any real reason.

People who complain about something that is FREE (regardless of releases group) should be forced to watch crunchyroll or poor english dubs YEARS later from the original airdates.
