We’ve decided to not do Angel Beats. There are multiple reasons for this, which I will outline below.
- We picked the show up under the assumption that because it aired on TBS, it would have closed captions.
We were wrong. - The show itself was nothing more than the preview expanded out to 24 minutes.
We are expecting a let down and would rather choose whether to give it a chance or not,
instead of shoving it down our throats. - We aren’t going to be the fastest group on this, and there already is a good group in Static Subs doing it,
so it really was whether we just wanted to do it or not.
Our present lineup is:
Saturday 8-8:30 PM EST : Hime Chen! Otogi Chikku Idol Lilpri
Sunday 10:00-10:30 AM EST : Working!!
Tuesday 12:30 – 1 PM EST : K-On!!
As this is a negative news post, I’ll post some status updates so everyone is happy! ^^
K-On Blu-Ray Batch : This is completely done. However, there is a power outage where the computer with my files are,
so it cannot be released until the power returns.
Lilpri 01 (We will call this loli idolmaster) : TL, waiting for Easter to end.
Vampire Bund 07 : Needs Nazo to have some free time

Hayate : Episode 24 is in QC, episode 25 is in TLC. This should be done by the end of the month.

It’s nice to hear you folks are wasting your time with Angel Beats. Judging from the first episode, the series is going to be complete garbage.

Mazui Subs is also doing Angel Beats and usually has it out hours after airing. I personally thought was good and think it will get even better as it goes along. It’s kinda like The Afterlife of Haruhi Suzumiya. 😉

Since Angel Beats has been screen-written by Jun Maeda (one of the main creators of KEY, the visual novel company that brought us Kanon, Air, and Clannad), I have high hopes for it, but I bet there will be plenty of other good fansub groups doing it, so it’l be ok. Thanks anyway. On a different note, I too would like you to finish the 6th To-Love-Ru OVA like some people here have mentioned. 🙂
Actually, I’d like to use the opportunity to request more seeds for Chihiro’s batch torrent with the To-Love-Ru series itself (not the OVA’s).There are some, but it’s going rather slow for me.

I think maybe you misunderstood something – The first episode wasn’t the preview over 24 minutes, it’s just that the preview was pretty much a summary of the first episode which means it was a bad preview rather than a bad first episode.

didn’t know where else to post it, but Angel Beats turned out to be waaayyy better than any other anime this season. Way better than the crappy shit u guys decided to do this season. Excluding Working of course. But not to bad that u guys dropped it. Mazui is doing an Out-fukin-Standin job on it.
