I think the pacing of the episodes’ development in this season is a bit different. And I think the comedy is better focused this season. Instead of the gentle meandering humor of the first season, punctuated by jarring visual gags, KyoAni seems to want to offer a stronger, more focused kind of humor. I love that exchange between Ritsu and Sawa at the beginning, for instance.
The face of this new girl is very appealing. I think Azu-nyan and Sokabe Megumi have the most appealing faces. And I think it’s because their eyes are narrower. Their narrower eyes are striking in a sea of large pentagonal ones. Still, I think Ritsu’s eyes have the most appealing coloration. I’m always surprised at the coloration details you can see in Ritsu’s eyes.
I’m enjoying this season more than I did the last.

^It seems I was wrong on two points, he he. You can find instances of all of them when Kyo-Ani gives their eyes some special treatment. And It looks like Azu-Nyan’s eyes are as big as the other girls. But they make her look especially good when they draw her lids lowered a bit, giving her a dumbfounded look.
