btw I LOVE YA GUYS FOR DOING THIS PROJECT 😀 its 100% better than the last season
nice, gonna watch it :))
Thanks for the release!
It’s interesting to see how they’ve changed the storyline from the manga, but so far I’m enjoying it.
hadaka ap—
These ARE uncensored. They’re as uncensored as they’ll get.
Who gives a carp about this anime anymore, sub more Amagami!
jk keep up the good work.
ddl pls
thx for your hard work. It was hard to wait for your subs but I know it’s worth it 😀
Yes Thank you!
Thank you! More carp X3
Sekirei makes me happy ~~~<3
thanks for the release!! Was the OP and ED left out or was it just not there this episode??
those arent uncensored. Uncensored eps r airing after midnight on fridays thats why we can see Benitsubasas nipples in episode 1 and before that there was a version with FOG (CURSE U DAMN FOG) and in this ep we can see THE DAMN FOG again ^^ soo w8ing for uncensored Kazehanas boobies ;* and Amagami is cute but g@y ^^
…WHAT FOG, you crazy alien man? There is no fog in this episode. Where do you see any fog?
waited for this one tyvm =)
Thanks for the release.
but the filler is getting longer. sigh….
I find it funny how people complain they cant get ordered chapters to work and stuff and decide not to d/l our subs (saw some comments on Animetake). It’s just hilarious. People need to update themselves. Ordered chapters saves ALOT of space and you don’t need to download them EVERY episode.
Size < 200 MB even for 720p, is the quality okay? ^^;
@zohos,there’s no smoke, it just gets really sunny, lol
I guess if you want to see Kazehana’s t**s so bad you’ll have to wait for blueray, lol
@ Kanade: Well, for one, I and many other fans don’t really care to save space. HDs aren’t that expensive in this day and age and I for one still prefer convenience over saved space. Ordered chapters cause the following problems:
– Hard to manage: Let’s say you want to take the episodes and watch them elsewhere (e.g. on a friend’s computer). Will have to move the OP and ED along with the episode in question and pray to god that his player can play ordered chapters.
– Hard to convert: For those who don’t know, it is a real hassle to actually convert an .mkv to play on other devices like Ipods and PSPs. With ordered chapters, it makes things 10 times worse.
– Hard to keep track of. When I want to switch groups halfway. For instance, I’ve been watching Ryu’s Releases, but since they’ve delayed/dropped Sekirei, I’m going with Chihiro. Unfortunately, this would mean tracking down the OP and ED in the very first post. When using ordered chapters, at least link to the OP and ED in EVERY release post.
– Another instance of this is if one wants to watch your releases years in the future. Episodes are available, but if the OP and ED links are not given or down, all episodes are screwed.
– I don’t really mind this as much, but the endings and openings have different credits depending who works on that episode. Not really respecting them when using ordered chapters.
– Lastly, for shows that have variable OP and ED, ordered chapters are useless anyway.
Basically, it’s much easier to manage if everything is together in one file. Everything is there and you don’t have to worry about playback, conversion or whether the OP is there or not. It’s convenient, easy, less hassle and perfect as it is. I really don’t get how this is so hard to understand…
Eh, I’ll take the space savings. I burn most completed series to DVD to keep my drives as clan as possible. And while I like having the OP/ED they aren’t a deal breaker for me either, after seeing them a couple of times I tend to skip past them, especially if my wife and I are watching several episodes at once.
Ultimately however, since no one is paying for fansubs, it’s up to the groups to do things as they please. People can either deal with it or go elsewhere.
I like this series, been reading the manga all along and was waiting impatiently for it. Was very happy Chihiro picked it up 🙂
@Actar: please take your conservative “one file is the best”, “I want to read the credits” BS somewhere else. Nobody here at Chihiro cares. If copying two more files is such a hard thing to do, I dread to think what you would do with .part archives.
To anyone who keeps whining about ordered chapters, I am fairly sure I speak for the whole team when i say: WE DON’T GIVE A CRAP YOU DON’T LIKE ORDERED CHAPTERS.
Actar, I appreciate that you took the time to actually explain why you hate ordered chapters. However, you would think that somebody who is actually implementing this would’ve already thought of all of that. :p
– Hard to manage: Let’s say you want to take the episodes and watch them elsewhere (e.g. on a friend’s computer). Will have to move the OP and ED along with the episode in question and pray to god that his player can play ordered chapters.
>If you’re moving them, you’re moving them on a device like a CD, DVD, BD, external, or link cable. I don’t see why you would want to move more data and less files over less data and 2 more files. And if you’re watching an entire series at his house day by day, he could store 50 MB for OP/ED instead of having to transport it every time.
Besides, if his player can’t, then why would you keep on moving it to his house, and not to yours?
– Hard to convert: For those who don’t know, it is a real hassle to actually convert an .mkv to play on other devices like Ipods and PSPs. With ordered chapters, it makes things 10 times worse.
>You’re going to be hard pressed to find any fansubber who cares about this. Fansubbers release based off of how they think a show should be watched. Converting it automatically makes it unsupported.
>Going onto IRC, animetake, or any of the multiple other sites that have them is really not that hard. This is fansubbing, not subbing for people who have no idea how to use the internet.
– Another instance of this is if one wants to watch your releases years in the future. Episodes are available, but if the OP and ED links are not given or down, all episodes are screwed.
>We make batches. People download batches in the future, not individuals. Batches have OP/ED. Null, void, move on.
– I don’t really mind this as much, but the endings and openings have different credits depending who works on that episode. Not really respecting them when using ordered chapters.
>Nobody really cares about this, because nobody can read the japanese credits.
– Lastly, for shows that have variable OP and ED, ordered chapters are useless anyway.
>Hence why we don’t order chapter something like ef.
Now, on our side, there are also more advantages. The one I like is that it allows you to update/fix the OP/ED chapters to have official lyrics, or if there is a slight change that is more of a studio fix, you can implement it for all episodes.
@actar
Just my two cents on the OC thing that Kristen didn’t mention.
-Will have to move the OP and ED along with the episode in question and pray to god that his player can play ordered chapters.
As far as I’m aware, the only player that actively DIES when you attempt to use OCs with or without the op/ed is VLC. VLC also screws over styled subs, so I don’t see why you would want to use it anyways. Other players that don’t support OCs will just ignore it and continue to play the episode, so unless for whatever reason you want to watch the op/ed every single time, it’s not that bad.
-but if the OP and ED links are not given or down, all episodes are screwed.
Same as above. if your player can support them anyways, it will just ignore the fact that the op/ed aren’t there and continue playing as normal.
-I don’t really mind this as much, but the endings and openings have different credits depending who works on that episode
We don’t really care anyways… We don’t translate them, so people probably wouldn’t know the difference anyways.
i just find this a little bit silly to still see ppl bicker over ordered chapters…
plain and simple:
Chihiro is doing ppl a favour by subbing the show you’re downloading and saving you room overall on the batch… if you don’t like what they’re doing download from others…
keep up the good work crew =)
OCs without OP/ED also allow me to upload, and thereby provide, DDLs at animetake faster.
I suppose I could provide a link back to the OP/ED DDLs on each new release, but I don’t think that’s necessary as (1) if you follow Chihiro’s releases you should already have them, and (2) they’re not that hard to find on your own.
As to the question of whether or not to use ordered chapters in the first place, I believe that’s totally up to the fansubbers. As Lomenar said earlier, “it’s up to the groups to do things as they please. People can either deal with it or go elsewhere.” If you don’t like the way things are done here, fuck off, no one cares.
Is there something…different about the mux of this episode?
Couldn’t re-encode it like I could the previous episodes….quite odd……
Hey there everyone, thanks for the replies, but there seems to be some misconception that I am showing some animosity with regards to Chihiro or Ordered Chapters. First off, I am truly grateful for what you guys are doing, as with other fansubs, I understand that all of you take the time and effort out of your lives to contribute to the community. Not to mention, it’s no easy task to translate shows and I, and I’m sure many other fans, appreciate that.
Just to clear things up, I am just relaying some of my thoughts on OCs as they are something that are fairly uncommon and I have only come across recently. I understand that my opinions are pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things and don’t really care whether you take me seriously or not. As Kristen said, it was kinda shortsighted of me not to think that you guys would not have already thought through the various issues that would irk the fans one way or another. Hey, it’s your choice, and I respect that. I suppose on your side of things, the advantages outweigh the detriments. But than again, as fans yourselves, you guys should know how easy it is to get worked up with the slightest inconvenience.
Last but not least, I’m not ‘bickering’, but mainly highlighting some things that have been on my mind for awhile. No need to get so hostile. Just nice to see another’s perspective on the issue.
We just get irritated because we explain it rather often. We have the information on how to play OCs in a bunch of different places if people would bother to look around instead of instantly resorting to “OMG OCS FAIL, I CAN’T PLAY THEM RAAAAGE.” We’ve also covered why we do it a bunch of times, and it’s the same arguments and same counter-arguments every time.
As for “inconvenience,” when you’re on our side of the subbing scene, “inconvenient” means something closer to “idiotic choice of codec, that no one supoorts.” If one of us don’t know how to work something, someone in the group usually knows what the problem is and how to fix it. “Inconvenient” on your side of the fence generally translates into “OCs” or “VLC sucks.” And we generally try to help with that if you mention it.
As for hostility, I’d like to point out that the only hostiles were non-staff and Dmon.
I’m always hostile, so you’re not special, or anything. I ONLY HURT YOU BECAUSE I LOVE YOU.
About the epiosde: MORE HAIHANE PLEASE!!! Also, we’re back on track with the manga now.
I don’t know if it’s just me or not, but the 480p version of the most recent Sekirei (eps 3) episode doesn’t work well on windows media and loops once when played on VLC.
tacticial: Your problem is that you’re using VLC. Download CCCP and use the Media Player Classic included in that.
I C that thx to me ya have a lot of comments and I still Love ur subs ^^
I pay for my download, it’s a fixed monthly fee with a meg limit. If i go over then i get shaped down to dialup speed. So some of us like ordered chapters!
Hi guies. I cannot play OP and ED. Did u guies fqil to trim or something????
I really like chihiro. They do hardsub moving letters so I love them. Also I love Dmonhirosomething, she’s my waifu. Plz2help.
Just wanted to mention that there’s a pretty basic error in the translation at about 19:20 in this ep
北の般若
this isn’t referring to wisdom or a wiseman… a han’nya is generally understood as a female demon… in fact, the evil faces often seen behind Miya are exactly what han’nya look like… and since they’ve made it pretty clear that Miya is the 4th major power in the city (one for each cardinal direction), it should also be pretty clear that this term is referring to Miya as a demon, and definitely not as a “wiseman”
It’s not so much a “basic” translation error, so much as a lack of cultural knowledge on the TLs part. Go plug Han’nya into google translate or something. It’s going to throw back wisdom. It might have also been TLed like that back in S1, and it was kept for consistency (not that that’s a very good reason).
just to clarify, I wasn’t calling it a basic translation error (since that implies messing up something basic), I was just saying that there was an error in the translation and that it was only a small issue (since it only really applied to a single word in the translation)
either way, even if you didn’t know what a han’nya was, the first dictionary I use gives this as the #2 definition for 般若: “2) (鬼女の面) (a Noh mask with) the face of a female demon.” So maybe using google translate to look up unknown words isn’t the best way. Since chihiro seems to have a number of TLers on the staff list, I’d recommend asking the others when there are things one person doesn’t understand, since even if they don’t have the cultural knowledge, chances are another one of them might…. I am surprised that no one picked up on han’nya as a demon though since even if you hadn’t encountered it while studying japanese, it comes up in anime more than a few times (one shining example being Han’nya from rurouni kenshin with the easily recognizable han’nya mask)
anyways, I’m sorry if I came off as abrasive at all, I really do appreciate that chihiro is subbing sekirei especially since there aren’t really any other groups doing it
Ah. I misunderstood what you meant by basic, that’s all.
It’s not just Google Translate that does that either. Jisho.org, a J-E Dictionary site, doesn’t turn it up either.
May I ask what dictionary you’re using? Most online dictionaries and programs use the Edict dictionary database, which obviously doesn’t have 般若.
You’re right that the TLs could talk to each other about things, but we don’t normally do it because it’s rarely an issue. If the dictionary throws up a fairly normal word for a japanese word we don’t know, we’re probably not going to ask about it.
that came from the 研究社 新和英大辞典 (Kenkyuusha unabridged Jap-Eng dictionary) which is the default on the electronic dictionary I have. I can completely understand the TLers not having any dictionaries besides internet ones since those kinds of things do cost money and they’re translating these shows for free.
but when there are obvious words that don’t seem to match up with what you think they should be (since wiseman is a pretty big stretch from “wisdom” considering that there are other words when referring to a person as wise as compared to the wisdom they hold), I recommend at least doing a google search using the unknown word along with something like 意味 to see what any japanese sites might have.
typing in はんにゃ 意味 to google brought me this link on the first page (http://dictionary.goo.ne.jp/leaf/jn/160272/m0u/) with the #2 definition describing it in more detail than my dictionary gave (although it’s in japanese)
either way, it’s understandable that there will be things that people miss or don’t know when translating, and I just wanted to inform chihiro that this particular one was incorrect since the term will likely be used again in this season
Ah, you have an unabridged dictionary. And an electronic one at that. That makes more sense. Must be a nice thing to have. ;-;
Anyways, we’re human, we make mistakes. I don’t know the circumstances of that line, so I can’t really say what when through the TLs head and why.
Wow…you guys are going all complicated on this. I just typed “hannya” in Wikipedia 😀
Yeah, because Wikipedia is such a great tool to be using for translating
Hello?! What about my question?!
Dude…don’t you have like…NO sense of humor?
Sir, YOU are still NOT helping me with my problem. Plz2help.
