K-On!! 16 Released!

We urgently need another typesetter. We also could use another timer, and a computer to RDP into.

1080p: Mio is the real cupcake boss.

720p: Look at her telling that cupcake to make itself.

480p: *Turns into a cupcake*

DDLs: *eats Kristen*

ahh 1080p is 194mb is this normal?

It’s because there’s basically no action in this episode. Like, even less than usual for this series.

  • Minazumi

what is “a computer to RDP into.”
    ?? maybe i can help ??

  • dave

haha alright thanks for the quick reply

  • Grid

Ah, shoot. Should have checked earlier. Guess I’ll have to get this in the morning. Thanks once again Chihiro. My weekly k-on fix has been delivered.

  • aniluv

Well, i am a no brain-er. So cant help with any of the stuff u mentioned earlier. The least i can do is express my gratitude.

  • madchipmunks

um i am interested in applying to be a typesetter.

  • hikikomori

Haha after the ED it started lagging and blocking like a bitch http://i26.tinypic.com/1z49v2h.jpg I don’t really care since it was the preview though, just thought it was funny :p anybody think they know what happened?

  • ILoveMugi

    thank you! ๐Ÿ˜€

    i <3 Mugi!! =}

  • GL

I also notice whole screen pixelation and lagging in the preview when I use KMPlayer/CoreAVC, but not with MPC/CCCP.

It’s most likely due to Open-GOP or some other new x264 feature that more outdated codecs like CoreAVC don’t properly support.

  • Shw

Hello in episodes 15 and this one 16 720p quality atleast there really are some glitches with OP and ED i dunno it seems they are connected but simply when it comes to them i hear the sound but no picture no matter what i do, i suppose it could be a problem with ordered chapters. So to watch normally i can just have skip op and end or put those episodes in another folder , it has never happed before with your releases and earlier episodes of K-ON

  • dylan05

i have the same problem as Shw on the 480p Ep’s with the new OP/ED. But only on my PC. on my Notebook it plays without any problems.

  • Shw

seems update to newest codes solved it for me now everything as it should be

  • Psyme

    CUPCAKE! NOM NOM NOM.

Only 194 MB, It’s very nice to get this with only 25 minutes of downloading. Thanks much.

    Also… AZUNYAN! NOM NOM NOM!

  • fuzzbucket

Not even Azunyan can resist the temptations of delicious cake.

  • ichigo_daisuki

    Thanks for the cupcake ^_^

  • magnum

i dont know why, but that picture of azunyan just makes me want to laugh

if you still dont have a timer by around the 10th of Aug i might be able to fill that role…also why do you need a computer to rdp into?

  • Chibito

Might be a stupid question, but what does a typesetter even do?

  • Matthew

Maybe my server running windows server 2008 R2 might help…

  • xcal

Arigato for high quality release like always ^_^

  • demize

Chibito: The typesetter makes the subs look pretty, when the timer’s done with them they’re all as basic as they get. IE no positioning, no fonts, etc.

That particular aspect is styling. Typesetting is making the signs and stuff. Styling usually falls under the typesetters responsibilities because of the similarities and the fact that it’s a one time job

  • Copper

So are you looking for experienced typesetters and timers? Or would you take someone that’s played around with aegisub a bit and would be really eager to learn to do it for you guys?

  • Gandalf

First of all, thanks a lot for your hard work! I’ve been following you since… er… I don’t remember? ^_^; Anyway, always loved your releases! Thanks, thanks, thanks!

I spotted a small typo on this episode, and since nobody seems to have commented about it yet, here goes:
    3:06 I kind of acting liky Yui-senpai. {shouldn’t it be “I’m kind of acting…” ?}

I’d like to help. I can’t TL, but I would help with anything else that’s needed. Typesetting/timing/encoding/etc seems fine. I don’t have lots of experience, but I’m a good learner.

Kanade: Yeah… sorry. My fault. It was a global replace mistake.

  • Anon

For some reason, this episode and the last didn’t play the OP or the ED for the 720p version (didn’t check the others). It just skipped over them. The other episodes play them, though. I think the problem might be related to me switching from CCCP to K-Lite. I’ve checked, and ‘attempt to open linked files’ is marked ‘yes’. Dunno how to fix it.

  • Gregory

    cutest episode evar!

  • Sei

If you guys are still looking for a computer to RDP, I would gladly be able to help if you guys would let me know what and why you guys need to RDP and explain how / what to do to set RDP up.

    Computer Spec’s ;
    Win7 Professional x64bit
    i7 920 2.67GHz
    12GB RAM DDR3
    SLI GTX 275’s
    3TB of HDD

  • Mike

Hey, are you guys able to get us 17 at this week? Coalguys is so lazy taking time off…

  • superseal

Uh… what happened to the ordered chapters, guys? I’m using SMPlayer but OP and ED are skipped in chapters 15 and 16 (i think 14 skips it too, i don’t remember) but the very first chapters are showing both OP and ED properly

  • magnum

to everyone having issues playing this episode that is using MPC and getting blocking on the preview, here is some information. if you do not have the CCCP installed (or maybe even if you do) there is the possibility that MPC is using its internal filters to render the video. to change this, open MPC, go to view>options>internal filters and in the right hand list, disable the filters for H264/AVC. this fixed the blocking during the preview for me. according to the CCCP advanced FAQ, CCCP is supposed to disable internal filters upon install, which would explain why people using this had no issue. if you arent using CCCP, the latest ffdshow filters were released around the same time as this episode i think.

btw i am using MPC-HCx64, ffdshowx64, and the haali media splitter without issue

  • superseal

I’m using mplayer-mt + SMPlayer, by the way.
