Your screenshots don’t show any kara. Also if you’re playing it on a MAC, Linux or with VLC (anything that uses libass) then I recommend you to use the second track. The first track needs a player that uses xy-vsfilter.

Something’s wrong with your settings, it seems that the player don’t even load the embedded fonts.

I figured it out. I’m running Japanese locale, and the .otf file in question has a Japanese name – and that’s where it fails, since your style expects the English one:

Great, glad to hear that. And the person who created that font found it wise to add several names in its properties, on a non-Japanese PC, it’ll show an English name and on a Japanese PC, it’ll show a Japanese name.

i see.. so you removed it yourself. i thought nyaa’s staff removed it in favor of commie’s kaibutsu-kun batch release. they even gave it blue tag, even though their staff insist that blue tags “are only for tv release” before

I have removed the JP name from the fonts using ttx/fonttools (dump font to .ttx, actually .xml, remove all JP entries, recompile from .ttx back to .otf) and it works now. So I am having the same issue as Soukyuu but maybe I am not as smart as him or maybe it is the holidays and my brain has started to rot but I have no idea how to fix the problem. From what I read, it seems to be a font issue so I download the fonts the Soukyuu uploaded and posted four posts above but have absolutely no idea what to do with it. Can anyone help me?

Typo error in episode 05 of BD tonari no kaibutsu-kun. “Today, I’m came here to see you” –>”Today, I came here to see you.”
Another typo error in episode 5 “Then” should be a shortening of “Thank you” according to context. So it should be “Thank– or Tha–” @7:16-7:17 just as it switches scenes.

The batch contains the v2 files.
That’s because the v4 patch applies to all 3 video resolutions we released.
Those aren’t episode numbers. A simple click on the .bat file would have told you that.
