Thanks for the release… i dont understand why more people dont … dvi to hdmi (pc to tv) or s-video etc… all the goodness of cccp an mplayerc with full tv viewing. Granted im sure people dont have the same setup i do, but if your pc an tv are close enough why not..gotta say your hd releases are the only way togo, they look great…

Exactly! That’s the main reason why I personally do patiently wait for Chihiro to release their XViDs. If you think your PC’s old, I’m using a P3-800Mhz… so YOU tell me if I get lags with MKVs. And yes, I use ffdshow (CCCP’s package ftw imho) for XViD and Core Codec for MKVs only (gave me better performance with h.264). I can watch MKVs up to 380p+ only but again, I prefer XViD because I’m able to watch at a higher quality w/o lag.
I’ve personally used the K-Lite package before throwing it away and using CCCP. My reason is not related to performance issues, it the SIZE issue. Gimme small and neat packages anyday (oh say like Foobar vs WinAmp)
While I WILL agree with what Cyber says about Kristen’s hasty (I’m pretty sure that he was not in the mood when he wrote that) comment on not caring about what fans want in terms of playback (TRUST me, you CAN lose ppl because ppl in turn don’t care for that kind of attitude, and I HAVE done fansubbing before) I MUST however say this: Chihiro will do what they can to get and do good quality titles (and I’ll gladly dl their subs anyday) but if it’s not so someone’s liking, he/she can always get subs from other groups.
We as dl’ders have that choice, and Chihiro have theirs in doing what they deem best for their releases.
