To celebrate the airing of K-On season 2, here is the Blu-Ray batch of season 1. Changes include:
1. Re-encode of episodes 1 and 2 to fix things I didn’t like.
2. Script changes to episodes 4, 8, and 14, to fix stupid mistakes
3. Additions of episodes 11, 12, and 13, as well as specials 6 and 7.
4. NCOP/NCED created.
All 720p TV versions are no longer supported and have been removed from the bot.
The bot will temporarily not contain these files due to size constraints.

I’ve been holding off on watching episode 14 till I had marathoned everything else in 1080 on my 360.
Now that dream will finally come true.
This release had nothing to do with me sending Kristen a loli that looked like the 3 way love child of Aoi (ZKC), Saten (Railgun), and of course Mio (K-ON). Honest!!

How do you fellas experience this show? When I watch K-ON!, a warm feeling of happiness washes over me. I do not find myself often laughing at the comedy. And the truth is, this is a humorous show, not a funny show. So instead of laughing, I just find myself smiling a lot when I watch it. The show does not ask you to feel anything else, however. There is no serious tension or action. It is not a drama. There are no scenes that make you blush or fear or cry. So I am surprised that a show that asks so little of me can keep me feeling happy.
It is a show about nothing featuring high school girls just hanging out. Lucky Star is the only other show I have enjoyed which also fits that description. But the two are very different shows. Expected of a KyoAni title, their art and music and voice direction are superb. The coloring of the eyes are especially beautiful. And the whole project has the gloss of high quality to it. But there are many beautiful looking anime I just have no interest in watching. I just think this one is special.
I am not really a fan of moe or lolis (pardon my sacrilege, Kristen) and I only watch 1 or 2 anime titles per season. So I am not really sure why I love this title as much as I do and want to see more of it. I know people derisively call this show a moeblob. But I don’t think that is quite right. Perhaps it is Ritsus’ spunk, Ui’s perfection, Nodoka’s rationality, and the utter normality of all the briefly encountered characters, which keeps the show from devolving into moeblob status. But it manages to do so. It is something else. But it is not much else.
Maybe it is nothing more than how the personalities of the main characters mesh, which makes me feel happy. Or maybe it is how their club activities cloister them from other characters and allow the eccentricities of each character to flourish that is interesting. But a show about the secret lives of young girls is not the type of show I watch.
Whatever it is, K-On! hits me the right way. What do you guys think?

Ritsu may be the least popular and Mio may be the idolized pin-up of the group, but it seems to me that the story and humor is largely driven by Yui and Ritsu and that the success of the show and its humor depends on how compelling Yui and Ritsu are to you.
Ritsu is my #1 fav followed by Ui. “Strum!” 😉
