Japan experienced a lot of inflation in the 1930s, so 10 and 12 yen is much more than it is today. In 1921 1 yen was roughly equivalent to 50 US cents – or about $6 in modern era. So this fabric is $60 and $72 in modern prices, which is rather expensive for a set of linen clothes!
