Because the old post fell off the first page and is unlikely to get more responses, I’m making a second post for submissions and stuff. I have all 16 submissions of the first set, this is to append to the 16.
Reminder that this contest ends on the 20th, so you have 10 days to get a submission in.
Rules of submission:
1. The banner should have the dimensions of 800X250
2. The banner should have a picture of Shindo Chihiro on it
3. The banner should have the text “Chihiro Fansubs” somewhere on it
4. The banner should be submitted it .png format
5. Only ONE LINK PER COMMENT. If you have multiple versions to show, put them in separate comments.
Theme is spring, so stuff like Sakura Petals, Flowers, and pastely colors are good.

Loli say, “What is going on?”
Episode 1 for us was an experiment. We apologize using you as the testees, but this was the only way it could be done. With episode 1, we encoded the .avi version in a h.264 codec. This is the codec that people have difficulty with in a MKV container, and is often why people ask “Where is the AVI?” However, we used lighter settings than the MKV version and hardsubbed it. Hence, people DLed the AVI expecting an XviD and got an h.264.
Results are similar to what we expected. The complaints we got were based off of what the people chose to watch the episodes off of. For instance, WMP or a PS3. However, there were NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL about the audio/video desynching. Essentially, this proved what we were testing. That is, there is no compatibility issues with SD shows for viewing. Maybe HOW you want to see it, but saying “Please encode XviD, I have a bad computer and can only watch XviD~” is a blatant lie, unless it’s a HD show.
We will continue doing XviDs this season. Next season is undecided.
For those who DLed episode 01 WS h.264, please rename it to [Chihiro]_Asu_no_Yoichi_-_01_[WS][h264][24670C29].mkv if you are planning to seed it with the batch at the end.

Also, I’m hoping the events at the end of the episode will be the start to the degeneration of the angelic lolis into the demon-like adults. *Hopes for an evil loli end*

Chihiro will be tentatively pick up the anime K-ON! starting in spring 2009. Description from Wikipedia:
K-On!’s story revolves around four Japanese high school girls who join their school’s light music club to try to save it from being abolished. However, they are the only members of the club, and none of them have any experience playing musical instruments or reading sheet music.
We are announcing this tentatively, because if the first episode is really bad or something, we won’t do it. However, this is a Kyoto animation production, and I don’t think they’ve made any genuinely BAD animes, so it’s 96% likely.
And this is listed as a TBS/BS-i show, so it should be 4:3 with 16:9 releases 3 weeks later. As per usual, we’d do these.

Last thing. If you’ve noticed, we’ve called this series “Zettai Shogeki” and not “Zettai Shougeki”. This is not an issue of the romanization of the kanji title. There was a soundtrack released with scans with episode one, and it had the title spelled out on the front page. See for yourself. There is no – over the o in Shogeki, nor is there a u, so the official title does not have a u. Tid bit of extra knowledge. XD
