We did it! IGG 04 is done! Took us long enough. We got stalled trying to find a translator for it, and now that we have one, everything is good! This is not yesy-Chihiro, this is Chihiro alone.
We’re trying to catch up to NEXT week. Meaning, we want to be done with episode 07 before episode 08 airs. If you can translate J->E or C->E and want to help push along this process, PLEASE tell me (And send me the script, preferably). [email protected] as usual.
Also, I have a big clap off to my staff. I have a TLer who worked regardless of exams, a TLC who stayed up to 5 AM, a timer who was up to 2 AM, and an encoder who’s just too cute and dedicated, all working to get this release.
This is probably the last time we seed off computers and not off of our awesome server. ^_^

Just a couple of notes.
First, thanks to the surprising response to the announcement of a donation button! I guess you could say that we’re at $8 out of $100 for our goal of 4 months from now? Maybe even less depending on how much income we have had since we put that up? It will be used for a server as soon as possible, and we will get files out to you with much quicker speeds. Hopefully we can also set up an archive bot so you don’t have to look for files that have 1 seed anymore. We’ll see! ^_^
Second, as you can see, there has been no Penguin Musume for 2 weeks. This is not us stalling, this is Japan not releasing. However, this week there was a recap episode released. Do you, as fans, wish to see this subbed, or do you think you have the general idea of what’s happening? I don’t know if we have the resources to do it, because some things in it seem to be hard to do (Speaking above speaking, and I don’t know if our TLer even wants to TL a recap). Since we sub for you guys, I want to hear from you.
As you can probably see, we have added in a new donation button to the chihiro webpage. Let me explain to you what’s been happening, such as why we switched to .net for a while, and why that’s at $0.
About two weeks ago, Chihiro and Animetake decided to not be associated with each other anymore. But, it wasn’t exactly a clean split, and we lost control over a few things.
As such, we’ve tried to decrease our reliance on outside groups for internal affairs. All Chihiro related matters (Website, IRC, PR, etc) are now solely in our hands, and I am certainly feeling a lot more secure about this whole matter at this point in time.
We re-added the donation button to fund a private server for us. We are looking at a 100 MBps line (Unless someone wants to be REALLY generous and fund us for a 1 GBps line. O.o) to mux/release on, as well as provide a bot and a FTP (You won’t use this, the staff will). If you want to know the advantages of this, well, basically…
As we are now: Encoder encodes, waits for the script, may go AFK when script is ready, muxes script in, seeds at 60 kb/s or uploads to a server we do not own, bots add. Usually takes 1-2 hours for the first person to get the script, and maybe even longer if not everyone is on when needed.
With a server: Encoder encodes, uploads to a server immediately, anyone muxes in the final script, bot adds immediately, torrent goes at 1 MB/s or better. Takes 10 minutes for somebody to get the file.
So, we have a server goal of $100. If you donate anything above 30 cents, we really appreciate it! Anything below 30 cents is lost in fees and processing.

Anyways… I believe this is the earliest we’ve ever released TLR since the capper arrests. That’s pretty cool.
Fanservice Episode, just like all the episodes. That’s why I love this show. Completely pointless, but incredibly fun to do. ^_^. Now we wait until tomorrow to do Penguin Musume (PLEASE air this week, penguin, I beg you!) And then we sit pretty working on the wide screens of… yeah, I blurted that out again, didn’t I.
Just a little plug. Sorry about the slow distro speed for this. It’s just faster for us to release it on a cable connection and seed like that than to upload to a bot. If you want to, if you could give us a server that can mux an h.264 and also create torrents, and are happy with telling me how to do it, we’ll get much better distro speeds, and everyone is happy! 🙂

2 episodes in 1 day? Are we mad? Yes, we really are.
This is episode THREE. Basically, episode 2 had some REALLY bad organizational issues (AKA, Chihiro was disorganized from numerous events in the past 2 weeks), to the point where fixing those organizational issues is taking longer than releasing an episode with good organization. Ah well. We’ll get 2 out soon enough.
Then, once we get two out, then maybe I can go back to the widescreens releases of… wait. Nevermind.
XviD first since our encoder messed up his first lossless, so releasing h.264 first lost any advantages of speed.

We’re done with ZnT 02, and the series. This morning, SS-Eclipse released episode 01 of Zero no Tsukaima. Now, if we were speeding it, this wouldn’t be an issue. But as a quality sub, the goal is to be the best quality out there, so you can be remembered for the series. Now, the thing about SS-Eclipse is, regardless of the other groups’ quality, they’ll be the ones remembered for it. Heck, look at Kanon. I personally feel that AFK was by far the best group, but SS-Eclipse is remembered.
Simply, we’d be oversubbing it if we continued.
So, we’re going to simply focus more on our other series, all which will now be speed. We MAY pick something else up, but the summer is looking pretty boring from the shows out there. We’re going to look more at the fall season.
Also, to whoever released that Clannad 24 torrent on Mininova with our name: Chihiro will NEVER touch Clannad. Ever. It was one of the things we swore on at the group’s creation. I support Sprocket. I don’t try to sub it myself. :p
Also also, if you were kbed out of Chihiro 2 nights ago, I apologize. That was a staff member (ex-staff member now) who was ragequitting due to my invite of someone else to be staff. I thought he’d be a little more mature about it, but I guess not. Regardless, the situation is remedied.

So, with our first and only completed series so far, we make a batch. Yay!
This is the XviD batch. They are all 1280X720 XviDs with hardsubbed subtitles. We will have the h.264’s soon, but I have to do something with them first. Expect them is a day or two.
